摘要： An apparatus for producing identification cards including a photograph of a person and written material by using electrostatic and transfer printing techniques. A photoreceptor comprising a layer of photoconductive material on a conductive supporter is charged and is exposed to an optical image of a person to form an electrostatic latent image of the person on the photoconductive material layer. An identification card material comprising a layer of dielectric material on a conductive supporter is placed on top of the photoreceptor to transfer print the electrostatic latent image from the photoreceptor to the identification card material. Toner particles are then supplied to the dielectric material layer of the identification card material to develop the electrostatic latent image thereon into a visible image. Written matter may then be entered on the identification card material, and the identification card material may be protected by lamination.

摘要： Copying of digital data from a digital recording medium is controlled so as to prevent unauthorized copying. The digital data is transmitted from a transmitter-side apparatus to a receiver-side apparatus through interfaces thereof in a system of a plurality of digital apparatuses connected to each other through a bus and mutually authenticated. The interfaces permit transmission and receiving of the digital data only between the authenticated apparatuses. Copy control information indicating a copy restriction level is added to main data of the digital data recorded on the digital recording medium such that the main data contains a first portion containing at least one of picture information and voice information, and a second portion containing the copy control information. Electronic watermark information is added to the second portion of the main data. An error correction code is added to the main data, and then intentional error information having a particular pattern is added to the digital data. The reproducing and recording operations of the transmitter-side apparatus and the receiver-side apparatus are restricted with respect to the digital data in the digital recording medium, depending upon whether the digital recording medium is authorized one or not, which is determined based on the copy control information, the electronic watermark, and the error information.

摘要： A stepping motor having two stator units axially arranged. Each of the stator units includes an inner yoke and an outer yoke having a plurality of pole teeth circumferentially formed at a predetermined pitch around a rotor having magnetic poles. The outer yoke of one of the stator units is asymmetrically arranged so that the pole teeth thereof are shifted from center between the pole teeth of the inner yoke in a specific direction. As a result, a cogging torque is reduced, constant speed rotation is attained and variations in the output torque are eliminated. Variation in the generated torque are also reduced by controlling the drive pulse width, the drive voltage or the drive current during the driving operation in accordance with the number of excitation phases.
