    • A motor speed control apparatus has a frequency generator for generating a frequency signal the frequency of which is proportional to the motor speed; a first pulse generator for producing a first pulse train having the same period as that of the frequency signal, each pulse of the first pulse train having a pulse width which is shorter than the period of the frequency signal and decreases as the frequency of the frequency signal increases; a second pulse generator for producing a second pulse train, the leading edges of the pulses of the second pulse train coinciding in timing with those of the first pulse train, each pulse of the second pulse train having a constant pulse width nearly the same as that of each pulse of the first pulse train obtained by the motor rotation at a predetermined speed; and a subtractor for producing a third pulse train by the subtraction of the pulses of the first pulse train and the corresponding pulses of the second pulse train, whereby there is produced a motor torque in correspondence with the third pulse train, and the motor speed can be controlled with suppressed motor vibration and excellent torque-speed characteristics of the motor.

    • A display device includes an ultraviolet light source, a color light source, and a filter selectively hit by their lights. The filter has a first area part for displaying the first display contents excluding an overlapped parts when the ultraviolet light is emitted, a second area part for the second display contents excluding the overlapped parts when the color light is emitted, and a third display part for displaying the overlapped parts when one of the ultraviolet and color light is emitted. The first area part blocks the color light and produces visible light when the ultraviolet light hits the first area part, the second area part allows the ultraviolet and color lights to pass therethrough, and the third area part allows the ultraviolet and color lights to pass therethrough and produces the visible light when the ultraviolet light hits the third area part.

    • A transmitted illumination type meter comprises a transparent light transmitting board having both a light entering bore and a shaft passing bore formed therethrough; a translucent dial plate placed on a front surface of the board, the dial plate having a shaft passing opening mated with the shaft passing bore of the board; a movement positioned behind the board; a light source positioned within the light entering bore; a drive shaft extending from the movement to the outside of the dial plate through the shaft passing bore and the shaft passing opening; a transparent pointer connected to the drive shaft to move over a front surface of the dial plate; and an annular convex peripheral wall defining the light entering bore. The annular convex peripheral wall allows light beams from the light source to enter the board and travel in parallel in the same. The annular light reflecting surfaces reflect the light beams from the annular convex peripheral wall toward the front surface of the light transmitting board. A Fresnel lens is formed on the front surface of the board and arranged to be concentric with the light entering bore. The Fresnel lens projects the light beams from the annular light reflecting surfaces toward the dial plate.
