    • A device occupying a volumetric space definable within the bounds of a substantially spherical volume for realizing isotropic radiation may include a support for supporting a plurality of multi-polarization capable antenna elements. The plurality of antenna elements may include a first antenna element oriented in a first direction, a second antenna element oriented in a second direction, and a third antenna element oriented in a third direction. The support may support the first antenna element, the second antenna element, and the third antenna element in an arrangement such that the second direction is at least substantially different than the first direction, and the third direction is at least substantially different than the first direction and the second direction. The plurality of antenna elements generally occupies a volumetric space definable within the bounds of a substantially spherical volume.

    • The present invention is directed to a dielectric radiating element. The dielectric element may include a ground plane connected to a dielectric superstrate. The dielectric superstrate includes multiple dipole layers which include metamaterials and dipoles. The ground plane is configured with a horizontal polarization slot and a plurality of vertical polarization slots. The ground plane is further configured for receiving electrical signals from a power transmission assembly and radiating electromagnetic waves via the polarization slots based upon the received electrical signals. The electromagnetic waves may be transmitted or radiated from the ground plane, may pass through the dielectric superstrate and may then be radiated from the dielectric radiating element. The dielectric radiating element is a dual-polarized radiating element configured with coincident phase centers.

    • The present invention is Broad Area Maritime Surveillance (BAMS) radiating element which includes a plurality of dipole layers, a stripline feed layer and a cover portion. The radiating element is low-profile and may have a thickness of 180 mils. Further, the radiating element may have an operating frequency range from 5.35 GHz to 5.46 GHz and a depth of 0.083 free space wavelengths at the high end of the operating frequency range. Still further, the dipoles of the dipole layers of the BAMS radiating element vary in width from layer to layer to maximize match at the edge of the scan volume. The BAMS radiating element may be at least partially constructed of printed circuit board material, such as Rogers 4003. The BAMS radiating element may have a return loss of less than −10 decibels over its entire scan volume and frequency band.
