    • A bicycle fork crown (10) or a fork crown cover (100) is disclosed having a connector holder (14, 114) with an inlet (18, 118) for receiving electrical cables (16a, 116a), and an outlet (20, 120) for receiving an electrical connector (22, 122). The connector holder (14, 114) retains the electrical connector (22, 122) and the electrical cables (16a, 16b) in a fixed position to facilitate installation and maintenance of the cables and the connection. The fork crown (10) or the fork crown cover (100) also includes a setting boss (12, 112) dimensioned to receive a connector cable terminal (28, 128). The connector cable terminal (28, 128) can be securely fastened to the setting boss (12, 112) by a fastening device (36, 136), such as a setting screw. In one embodiment of the invention, the fork crown (10) includes a rubber cover (150) that covers the terminal (28) and the electrical connector (22). In another embodiment of the invention, the fork crown cover (100) includes a pre-load adjuster cap (140). The fork crown cover (100) preferably has an upper crown cover (104) and a lower crown cover (102). The upper and lower crown covers (104, 102) can be attached together with any known fastening device.

    • A multi-purpose mounting member for a bicycle fork, especially a front suspension fork, is provided. The multi-purpose mounting member has a rigid front support portion, a rear support portion and a recessed portion that connects the front and rear portions together. The recessed portion forms a mounting space that is sized to receive the inner side surfaces of the forks and the ridge of the fork. Preferably, the multi-purpose mounting member is designed to provide a smooth contoured connection with the front fork. In other words, the mounting space of the multipurpose mounting member is shaped and arranged to provide a very attractive integrated appearance. The front and rear portions are preferably provided with fenders that are adjustable in the longitudinal direction. Moreover, the front support portion is also designed to receive other accessory components, such as an electrical control box, a lamp or a carrier. In other embodiments, the multi-purpose mounting member can be constructed of several pieces. For example, the multi-purpose mounting member can have a plastic lightweight cover and a rigid metal support or holder.

The mounting member includes a stem portion configured to be coupled to a bicycle frame and a handlebar and display unit support portion movably coupled to the stem portion. In the preferring embodiments, the handlebar and the display unit are mount to the bicycle handle mounting member such that the wiring between the display unit and control members mounted to the handlebar are completely concealed.

The indicator holder has an attachment portion adapted to be coupled to a portion of a bicycle and a support portion that movably supports the indicators. In one embodiment, the support portion has at least two coupling members that form a pair of retaining slots to slidably support the indicators. In another embodiment, the indicators are slidably coupled together and slidably coupled in a single retaining slot.

    • A control body is provided for mounting to a bicycle in close proximity to a handlebar for controlling a pulling and releasing of the transmission element. A first lever is mounted to the control body for movement which causes the control body to effect pulling of the transmission element, and a second lever is mounted to the control body for movement which causes the control body to effect releasing of the transmission element. The first lever and the second lever are mounted to the control body so that the handlebar is disposed between the first lever and the second lever when the shifter operating device is mounted to the bicycle. In a first embodiment both levers may be pivotally coupled to the control body for movement in a common plane, and the first lever may be adapted to move in a direction opposite to the movement in the second lever. In a second embodiment one lever may be pivotally coupled to the control body and the other lever may be coupled for linear movement relative to the control body.
