    • An apparatus suspends a personal radiation protection garment above a work surface. The suspension apparatus comprises a support member positioned above the work surface, a cable mechanically suspended from the support member, and means for counter-balancing the weight of the personal radiation protection garment attached to the cable. Means for attaching the counter-balancing means to the personal radiation protection garment suspend the personal radiation protection garment. The attaching means includes means for disconnecting the garment from the counter-balancing means, the disconnecting means manually operable by one hand of a user and disposed within reach of the user while wearing the personal radiation protection garment attached to the counter-balancing means. The personal radiation protection garment is supported in suspension and may be disconnected from the counter-balancing means by the one hand of the user for releasing the personal radiation protection garment from suspension while still being worn by the user.

    • A cross-flow air separation system comprises a conveyor configured to project material out over an end of the conveyor generally along a trajectory path into a far receiving bin. An optical sensing system is configured to identify particular objects in the projected material. A first air ejection system is configured to generate a first airstream that ejects the identified objects from the trajectory path into a second near receiving bin. A second cross air current system is configured to generate a second airstream that reduces air resistance for the materials projected along the trajectory path. The second airstream reduces certain aeronautic phenomena that would cause some of the projected materials to unintentionally fall into the wrong receiving bin, thus creating a higher purity/less contaminated materiel stream into the near bin.

The system further includes a keyboard driver on a computer system for interfacing with the keyboard, wherein the keyboard driver receives the enhanced scan codes and determines the emoticons or abbreviations corresponding to the enhanced scan codes. Lastly, the system includes an application, such as an instant messaging application, a word processor or an email application, on the computer system for interfacing with the keyboard driver. The application receives the emoticons or abbreviations determined by the keyboard driver and displays an image corresponding to the emoticons or abbreviations.

    • A mobile aircraft launcher includes a towable, tiltable, wheeled trailer, a launch beam comprising a plurality of sections hinged to one another, an aircraft-engaging shuttle mounted on the launch beam, and a shuttle-moving drive arrangement mounted on the trailer. The launch beam is mounted on the trailer and is movable between a folded, transport condition, in which the beam sections are generally side-by-side, and a launch condition, in which the beam sections are colinear. In the colinear arrangement, a portion of the launch beam extends forward of the trailer, that portion being supportable entirely through the trailer.
