摘要： Embodiments of systems and methods to relate a human operator to a welding power source are disclosed. One embodiment is a networked system having a server computer. The server computer is configured to receive first data including at least one of an identity or a location of a welding helmet within a welding environment, and a triggering status indicating a triggering of an arc detection sensor of the welding helmet due to initiation of a welding arc. The server computer is configured to receive second data including at least one of an identity or a location of a welding power source within the welding environment, and an activation status indicating an activation of the welding power source. The server computer is configured to match the welding power source to a human operator using the welding helmet based on at least the first data and the second data.

In one embodiment, a metal deposition device (MDD) is configured to deposit a metal material during an additive manufacturing process. A controller is operatively coupled to the MDD and is configured to command the MDD to deposit the metal material on a base to form a contour of a part. The controller is configured to command the MDD to deposit the metal material on the base to form an infill pattern within a region outlined by the contour. The infill pattern is a wave shape having a wavelength. The controller is configured to command the metal deposition device to fuse the infill pattern to the metal contour at crossover points, where the infill pattern meets the contour, by applying energy at the crossover points and reducing a deposition rate of the metal material at the crossover points to prevent distorting the contour.

摘要： Arc welding systems, methods, and apparatus that provide dual-spectrum, real-time viewable, enhanced user-discrimination between arc welding characteristics during an arc welding process. Welding headgear is configured to shield a user from harmful radiation and to include a digital camera or cameras to provide dual-spectrum (i.e., both visible spectrum and infrared spectrum) real-time digital video image frames. The welding headgear is also configured with an optical display assembly for displaying real-time digital video image frames to the user while wearing the headgear during an arc welding process. Image processing is performed on the visible and infrared spectrum video image frames to generate dual-spectrum video image frames providing an integrated and optimized view of both the visible and thermal characteristics of the arc welding process which can be viewed by the user on the optical display assembly in real time.

摘要： An energy storage module (ESM) is provided for connecting to a welding or cutting machine (WCM). The ESM has a controller for connecting to a communication link (CM) to communicate with the WCM when the ESM is connected to the WCM. The ESM also has a battery pack to store electrical energy and output DC electrical power to be used by the WCM, under control of the controller. Electrical input power provided to the WCM from an electrical grid or a renewable energy source during a welding or cutting operation can be supplemented or replaced by the DC electrical power from the ESM. The ESM further has regulation circuitry to regulate the DC electrical power output from the battery pack. The controller controls the regulation circuitry based on identification data received over the CM from the WCM to regulate the DC electrical power to be electrically compatible with the WCM.

摘要： Embodiments of an integrated laser hot wire deposition head are disclosed. In one embodiment, the deposition head includes a structural frame, a laser process sub-system, a wire feeding device, and a contact tube. The laser process sub-system is mounted within the structural frame to deliver a single beam path laser beam in a longitudinally-oriented direction toward a substrate or a part to be additively manufactured. The wire feeding device and contact tube are mounted within the frame to feed a consumable filler wire toward the substrate or part at an angle with respect to the longitudinally-oriented direction. The deposition head can be moved omni-directionally with respect to the substrate or the part, under the guidance of a motion control system, to additively manufacture the part without having to angularly change an orientation of the single beam path laser beam from the longitudinally-oriented direction or rotate the deposition head.
