摘要： An image reading apparatus according to the present disclosure includes: a platen glass on which a document is placed; a light source, an image sensor; an image reading unit for optically reading an image of a reading area of the image sensor; a rotatable document cover for covering the platen glass; a cover state detection unit for the document cover; a control unit to detect a sensor output level of the image sensor; and a document size specification unit for the document. The control unit causes the image reading unit to perform a reading operation for specifying the size of the document in the main scanning direction in a state in which the document cover is open, and causes the light source to emit a predetermined light amount in the reading operation, which is larger than the light amount when the document image is read from the document.

摘要： An image reading device includes a contact glass, a first lamp, an image sensor, a first lamp, a light absorbing member, and a second lamp. When reading a document, in a first period, the first lamp is turned on while the second lamp is turned off. In a second period, the second lamp is turned on while the first lamp is turned off. On the basis of first image data obtained by reading in the first period and second image data obtained by reading in the second period, the control unit determines whether each pixel in the first image data is a pixel having read document data or not.

摘要： An image reading device includes a light source, a photoelectric conversion portion, a first radiation control portion, and a first image generating portion. The light source radiates lights of R (red), G (green), and B (blue). The photoelectric conversion portion receives light reflected from a document and outputs an electric signal corresponding to a light reception amount. The first radiation control portion sequentially radiates two color lights of G and R or B from the light source to each line along a main scanning direction on the document while alternately switching the lights of R and B on a line-by-line basis. The first image generating portion generates color image data for one line, based on at least three electric signals corresponding to lights of R, G, and B among the electric signals corresponding to respective color lights radiated to at least adjacent two lines by the first radiation control portion.
