摘要： An apparatus and a method for providing a MultiCast and BroadCast Service (MCBCS) in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system are provided. The method includes receiving a message comprising information relating to a broadcast channel which carries a service guide, from a Base Station (BS), receiving service guides relating to one or more service providers over the broadcast channel using the information, when the received service guides are fragmented service guides having a certain size, generating a unified service guide by reassembling the fragmented service guides and when one service provider is selected, filtering only a service guide of the selected service provider in the unified service guide and displaying the filtered service guide in a display. Thus, the channel transition time can be reduced.

Upon receipt of a location trigger for requesting location information of a Mobile Station (MS) from a location client, a Location Server (LS) transmits an authentication request message for requesting an identifier (ID) of an anchor authenticator for the MS to an Authorization, Authentication and Accounting server (AAA). Upon receipt of the authentication request message, the AAA transmits an authentication response message including an ID of the anchor authenticator to the LS. Upon receipt of the authentication response message, the LS transmits a Location Controller Identifier (LCID) request message for requesting an LCID of a Location Controller (LC) for the MS to the anchor authenticator. Upon receipt of the LCID request message, the anchor authenticator transmits an LCID response message including an LCID of the serving LC to the LS. Upon receipt of the LCID response message, the LS transmits a location report request message for requesting a report on location information of the MS to the serving LC. Upon receipt of the location report request message, the serving LC transmits a location report response message including location information of the MS to the LS.

摘要： Disclosed is a Quality-of-Service (QoS) Support method in a mobile communication system including an access terminal, an access network for performing packet data communication with the access terminal, a packet control function for controlling transmission and reception of packet data between the access network and the access terminal, and a packet data service node for exchanging packet data with the packet control function. The access terminal maps a requirement based on an application characteristic to an IP QoS parameter, generates a resource reservation protocol message, and transmits the resource reservation protocol message to the packet data service node. The packet data service node maps IP QoS information to be transmitted to the access terminal to QoS information needed in the access network, and transmits the mapping result to the access network via the packet control function. The access terminal receives data including QoS information from the packet data service node, and performs communication according to the QoS information.

摘要： A system and method for de-registering a Broadcast/Multicast Service (BCMCS) in a high-rate packet data system including an access network (AN) for performing radio communication with an access terminal (AT), a packet control function (PCF) for processing packet data communication, and a packet data service node (PDSN) connected to a BCMCS contents server (CS) via a packet communication network is provided. In the system and method, the access network receives a de-registration message for a release request of a BCMCS service from the access terminal. The access network transmits a BCMCS release message including BCMCS information with a release request, to the packet control function. The packet control function transmits a BCMCS registration request message including the BCMCS information to the packet data service node. The packet data service node performs a release and accounting process on a corresponding BCMCS service based on the BCMCS information.
