    • A system for displaying an image includes a first light modulator including a first pixel array oriented at a first angle, and at least a second light modulator including a second pixel array oriented at a second angle different from the first angle. The first pixel array is adapted to produce a first image portion oriented at the first angle, and the second pixel array is adapted to produce a second image portion oriented at the second angle. As such, the first image portion and the second image portion are combined to display the image.

    • An instrument for attaching a graft to an aorta includes a first needle assembly for breaching the aorta to provide a hole in a wall thereof, and a carrier portion for insertion of an end of a tubular graft through the hole and into the aorta. Arms are pivotally mounted on the instrument and are moveable from a position extending axially of the carrier to a position extending radially from the carrier to spread the end of the graft radially outwardly from a tubular portion of the graft to form an annular flange extending outwardly from the tubular portion, and to support the flange within the aorta and around the hole therein. A second needle assembly retains the suture material and advances the suture material into engagement with the aorta wall and the graft flange for suturing the graft flange to the aorta wall.

    • A purse string suturing instrument is provided for quickly and effectively forming a purse string suture in tubular tissue through relatively small cannulas placed in the body. The instrument includes a pair of elongated jaws, each having a row of spaced-apart uniform-size teeth. The jaws are hinged together at one end to clamp the tubular tissue therebetween. The two rows of teeth are offset with respect to each other so that they mesh when the jaws are closed. A single operating mechanism is provided to articulate the pair of jaws with respect to a longitudinal axis of the suturing instrument and actuate the jaws between an open position and a clamping position. The jaws are inserted through a cannula and positioned to close around the tissue to be sutured. The rows of teeth bend the tissue therebetween into a wavelike configuration. A pair of needles, the ends of each being connected to a single length of suture, is then inserted through passageways provided through the teeth. An encircling series of stitches are thus formed in the wall of the tubular tissue to create a purse string suture. The needles and the suturing instrument are then withdrawn through the cannula. The tubular tissue can be snugly fitted over an anastomosis ring or the like by drawing and tying the purse string suture.
