摘要： An apparatus and method for estimating a frequency offset using a preamble signal having a periodically repeated structure. According to the apparatus and method, the sum of or the difference between an input signal and a delay signal is calculated without obtaining a simple correlation value between the input signal and the delay signal, and then a correlation value between a calculated signal and the delay signal is obtained. Accordingly, the implementation complexity of the circuit and the power consumption are reduced, and thus, the battery cycle of a terminal provided with the frequency offset estimating circuit can be increased.

摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for adaptively allocating pilots in a pilot-aided channel estimation system. A multipath delay is measured between a base station (BS) and a mobile station (MS). A distribution density of pilots of a signal to be transmitted between the BS and the MS is controlled. When the multipath delay is large, the pilot distribution density is relatively raised. However, when the multipath delay is small, the pilot distribution density is relatively lowered. The pilot distribution density is adaptively controlled according to the multipath delay, such that resources are effectively utilized and throughput is improved.

The method includes the steps of receiving a frame and estimating the start of the frame by searching for an interval or point of time during or at which a correlation between preambles is at its maximum. At this time, to in order to estimate the start of the frame, a cyclic prefix is used. Thus, a correlation between a cyclic prefix and the last interval of a symbol, which is the same as the cyclic prefix, is calculated and an interval or point of time having the maximum correlation is estimated as the start point of the cyclic prefix. Therefore, the start point of the frame can be accurately estimated based on the start point of the cyclic prefix.

摘要： An apparatus and method for canceling an interference signal in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. A receiver of a wireless communication system includes at least two receive antennas for receiving a target signal of a serving base station and interference signals of at least one neighbor base station; a channel estimator for estimating channels of the signals received through the receive antennas; and a detector for detecting the target signal using channel estimation values of the received signals. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce error propagation caused by the incorrect estimation and detection of the interference signal. In addition, time delay for detecting/restoring/removing the interference signal does not occur. Moreover, the increase of additional buffers can be prevented. Consequently, the increase of hardware complexity can be prevented.

摘要： A method for transmitting common control information from a base station to a plurality of subscriber stations in a wireless communication. The common control information includes first information transmitted in common to all of the subscriber stations and second information separately transmitted to the subscriber stations according to channel states of the subscriber stations. The first information is transmitted using an MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) level having a modulation scheme with a lowest order and a coding scheme with a lowest coding rate among all MCS levels available in the base station. The second information is transmitted using MCS levels that are adjusted by a predetermined level against MCS levels corresponding to channel states of the subscriber stations.

The channel estimation result is stored in an estimation buffer along with a channel estimation result compensated in a preamble phase compensator.
