    • In a fluid pressure control valve unit, a pair of first and second partition members are assembled within a housing to subdivide the interior of the housing into first and second chambers and to provide a space between the partition members. The first chamber is in open communication with an outlet port for connection to rear wheel brake cylinders, and the second chamber is in open communication with an inlet port for connection to a master cylinder. Assembled within the first chamber are a stepped piston and a control valve assembly cooperable with the piston. The piston extends through the first partition member into the space, and a control plunger is slidably disposed within an axial bore of the second partition member to provide a third chamber opening toward the second chamber. An inertia-control valve assembly is disposed within the second chamber to control the pressure in the third chamber in accordance with the rate of deceleration. In such arrangement, one of the partition members is provided at its peripheral portion with a fluid communication passage between the first and second chambers.

    • An improved hydraulic brake control assembly for automotive vehicles having a proportioning valve for regulating the hydraulic pressure applied to the rear wheel brakes from a master brake cylinder in accordance with vehicular load. A control device responsive to vehicular deceleration and hydraulic pressure from the master brake cylinder controls the proportioning valve by a slidable piston of the control device applying an urging force on the proportioning valve varied in response to the hydraulic pressure applied to the slidable piston. The hydraulic pressure from the master brake cylinder applied to the slidable piston is modified by first valve, a second pressure-sensitive valve and an orifice. The first valve controls admission of the hydraulic pressure to the slidable piston in response to predetermined vehicular deceleration, the orifice and the second valve being in parallel, the hydraulic pressure normally being supplied to the slidable piston through the orifice. The normally-closed second valve is opened when a predetermined hydraulic pressure difference is reached on opposing sides of the orifice for supplying the hydraulic pressure to the slidable piston without pressure throttling by the orifice. The proportioning valve therefore operates to provide a proper hydraulic pressure to the rear wheel brakes in accordance with different vehicular loads and braking applications.

    • A toner density controlling apparatus adapted to control toner density by sensing a T/D level in a developer vessel by using a toner sensor performs a toner density controlling operation on the basis of an output of the toner sensor while maintaining an input control voltage to be applied to the toner sensor at a predetermined level in a definite control range where the toner sensor output decreases proportionally to the T/D level in a linear relation. Conversely, in an indefinite control range where the relationship between the toner sensor output and the T/D level is nonlinear, the input control voltage to be applied to the toner sensor is variably controlled so that the toner sensor output can be adjusted to an upper or lower limit level of the definite control range, and the toner density controlling operation is performed on the basis of the input control voltage. With such an arrangement, even if the definite control range where the toner sensor output decreases proportionally to the T/D level in a linear relation is narrow, the toner density controlling operation can be performed on the basis of the input control voltage in the other control ranges. Therefore, even if an image forming apparatus provided with such a toner density controlling apparatus is used in an extensively varied environment, the toner density can properly be controlled by using a single toner sensor.
