    • There is disclosed an electric camera which comprises a switch for switching a state of the camera between a state out of use and a state in use, a driving member for shifting the position of a member to be driven to change its state between a state out of use and a state in use in accordance with the state switched by the switch, detection unit for detecting whether the member to be driven is shifted during an operation of the driving member, counter unit for starting counting when the driving member is started to operate upon switching by the switch, change-over unit for changing over a driving speed of the driving member from a first speed to a second speed which is lower than the first speed, and control unit for stopping the drive of the driving member when the counter unit counts a predetermined time, so that the camera can be used continuously when the photographing lens or the barrier is stopped due to external forces, etc., and then the cause thereof is removed, and battery consumption can be suppressed to the minimum.

    • A ceramic trimmer capacitor comprising a cylindrical casing, a stator and a rotor comprising a rotor casing and a dielectric assembly consisting of a disk-shaped ceramic dielectric member, a semicircular dielectric layer formed upon the upper surface of the dielectric member and having a low dielectric constant less than 20 and a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially equal to the dielectric member and a rotor electrode formed on the whole surface of the dielectric member including the semicircular dielectric layer, the dielectric assembly being inserted into the rotor casing and electrically and mechanically connected thereto; the stator and the rotor being placed in the cylindrical casing and resiliently supported. Stray capacitance is almost negligible; the variable capacitance range may be considerably improved; and the mechanical strength may be increased. The ceramic trimmer capacitor is especially adapted to be used in an electronic watch.

    • Visual time indicator suitable for incorporation in a watch or other time measuring devices comprising a dial made of a sheet of plate and concentrically divided into two zones: an inner zone and an outer zone, and hands to indicate hours, minutes and seconds. The hand for seconds has a long arm and a short arm which radially extend from a center of the dial to an opposite direction, respectively. The inner zone of the dial is provided with a graduation for the short arm of the second hand while the outer zone thereof is also provided with a progressive graduation for the long arm of the second hand, minute hand and hour hand. The graduation of the inner zone is started from a dial down position to a counterclockwise direction, whereby the graduation and the short arm of the second hand serves as a minute timer.

    • An image blur compensation device including a mechanism that can effectively reduce the effects of noise which becomes a problem in image blur compensation devices which are used in still cameras, video cameras, and the like. Particularly, the noise becomes a problem during position detection using a position sensitive device. The image blur compensation device includes an image blur compensation optical system to compensate for image blur arising due to blurring motion of an optical device, a position detection unit to detect the position of the image blur compensation optical system, an image blur compensation drive unit to drive the image blur compensation optical system based on the detection result of the position detection unit, and a power supply circuit which performs power supply to the position detection unit and the image blur compensation drive unit by a switching step-up control. The image blur compensation device includes an inhibition device to inhibit the detection operation of the position detection unit in a fixed period in which the switching phase of the power supply circuit has changed.
