    • A damping bushing for a guide pin of a spot-type disc brake is disclosed, having an elastic pleated cup formed with a first end section fixed to a cylindrical body receiving the guide pin, and also formed with a second end section adapted to be assembled to a ring fixed to the guide pin. The ring has a recess which accepts a torus integral with the second end section. The torus (74) is formed with an outer large radius of curvature portion and an inner smaller radius of curvature portion which creates a cam shape. The larger radius portion allows a pleat of the second end section to force the torus over a cone shaped ring end and into the ring recess. The torus then is retained by the smaller radius portion engaging a corner of the recess.

    • A low-pressure brake booster for automotive vehicles includes a low-pressure casing which is sealingly subdivided into a low-pressure chamber and a working chamber by an axially movable wall. The axially movable wall includes a flexible diaphragm abutting a diaphragm plate made of plastic. The diaphragm plate has a hub whose end surface is connected in a catching engagement with a metallic spacer ring. The spacer ring has radial ribs that extend through slots of a central reinforcement tube for the casing and transmits the boosting force from the diaphragm plate onto a control valve housing disposed internally of the tube. Latches extending from the diaphragm plate engage by means of detents behind the spacer ring and form a centering arrangement for a compression spring which urges the spacer ring against the hub of the diaphragm plate and, hence, the diaphragm plate into its inoperative position.

    • A considerable reduction in weight of a brake booster is achieved in relation to conventional brake boosters by disposing a tube or pipe coaxially in the vacuum housing and connected to both end walls of the vacuum housing. According to the present invention the overall length of brake booster is reduced and the assembly thereof is easier. This is accomplished by constructing the force transmitting elements between the movable wall and the control housing as ring segments which are rigidly fastened to the movable wall on the vacuum chamber side thereof and engage radial indentations at the adjacent end of the control housing.

    • Known vacuum brake boosters are provided with a heavy sheet metal vacuum housing for transmitting reaction forces of the mechanical actuation to the booster carrier plate secured to a vehicle. According to the present invention the weight of the booster is remarkably reduced by providing draw bars for transmitting the reaction forces to the carrier plate inside the vacuum housing parallel to the push rod, penetrating the vacuum piston or movable wall and connecting both transverse end walls of the vacuum housing to the carrier plate. The draw bars are sealed at their point of penetration of the vacuum piston by small rolling membranes which are surrounded by tubular members fastened to the vacuum piston. A base plate assembly is provided including a base plate fastened to the transverse end wall of the vacuum housing adjacent the master cylinder, bolts fastened to one side of the base plate upon which the master cylinder is fastened and the draw bars are fastened to the other side of the base plate.
