The automatic announcing device for an elevator includes: a voice volume adjustment setting unit for setting a predetermined condition for voice volume adjustment; a control unit for outputting a control code in accordance with the condition set by the voice volume adjustment setting unit to set an operation mode of the elevator to a voice volume adjustment operation until completion of the voice volume adjustment, and for outputting a voice volume code in accordance with the condition set by the voice volume adjustment setting unit; a voice volume change amount indicating unit for indicating an amount of voice volume change in accordance with the voice volume code output from the control unit; and a voice volume data storing unit for storing voice volume data in accordance with kind or timing of a message, the voice volume of a message changing based on the voice volume data, in accordance with the control code and the voice volume code from the control unit and stored in the voice volume data storing unit.

    • A magnetic tape driving apparatus, which does not cause damage to either a magnetic head or a magnetic tape when making transition of the magnetic tape from a stopped state to a running state, when making transition of the magnetic tape from a running state to a stopped state, or when reversing the transportation direction of the magnetic tape, is provided. In a state where any one of a magnetic head and a magnetic tape moves and the other rests (i.e., a state where static friction may occur), such as at the time of starting transportation of the magnetic tape, at the time of stopping the tape in a running state, and at the time of reversing the transportation direction of the magnetic tape, a head displacing portion vibrates the magnetic head under the control by a displacement control portion, and thus no static friction occurs between the magnetic head and the magnetic tape. Therefore, the risk of causing damage to the magnetic head (such as an MR head unit equipped with an MR element) or the magnetic tape can be reduced.

    • The present invention is a servo signal recording method for recording a servo signal on a magnetic tape having a data band and a servo band, wherein erasure is performed based on a pulse having a duty ratio varied so that a driving time of the AC erasing head with respect to one polarity is longer than a driving time thereof with respect to the other polarity, and then, the servo band is magnetized so as to have a magnetization direction opposite to magnetization direction caused by the erasure to record a servo signal in the servo band. According to this configuration, the influence of an information recording signal recorded on the surface of a magnetic recording medium on a reproduction output is reduced, whereby the reproduction output of a servo signal can be enhanced easily.
