    • A fuel injection pump is proposed in which the quantity adjustment member has a travel limitation device in the form of an adjustable stop, which is adjusted in accordance with the displacement of an adjusting piston in accordance with a contour formed in the jacket face thereon. The displacement of the adjusting piston is effected via rpm-dependent pressure of the suction chamber counter to the force of a restoring spring and counter to a pressure which can be established with the aid of a pressure control valve in accordance with engine operating parameters. The adjustment of the stop is thus effected with the high work capacity of the suction chamber pressure, and the limitation of the adjustment is attained with the aid of the modulated pressure diverted from the suction chamber pressure.

    • A fuel injection system for Diesel internal combustion engines, particularly vehicle Diesel engines, is proposed which has a full-load stop dependent on atmospheric pressure. The position of the full-load stop which adapts the injection quantity to the variable ambient air pressure is derived from an air pressure adjusting member and transmitted onto the full-load stop via a transmission member. A locking mechanism, which locks the transmission device in a plurality of positions counter to the force exerted by the full-load stop, is associated with the transmission member. The transmission member has two disks draggably coupled within a predetermined range, one of which disks is actuated by the air pressure adjusting member and the other of which disks cooperates with the full-load stop. The draggable coupling effects an adjustment of the full-load stop, if the full-load stop is relaxed, so that the air pressure adjusting member need exert no more than a small adjusting force.

    • A fuel injection pump for Diesel engines in which a rotating and reciprocating piston pressurizes and distributes fuel to individual pressure lines leading to the injection valves of the engine. In order to change the timing of injection with respect to the engine cycle, there is provided a mechanism to change the relative angle between the pressurizing piston and its drive means, which runs in synchronism with the engine. The mechanism operates hydraulically and is affected by the fuel pressure in the sump of the injection pump. There is also provided a hydraulic control valve mechanism which permits varying amounts of fuel to flow back from the sump to the low pressure side of the fuel delivery pump, thereby changing the injection timing. A primary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine speed while a secondary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine temperature in order to adapt the timing of fuel injection to engine starting and engine warm-up. Various embodiments are presented.

    • A fuel-injection pump comprises a pump cylinder, a pump plunger formed with a first relief duct opening into a working space and also opening radially at a first outlet opening into a relief space, and a drive for periodically rotating and axially reciprocating the plunger. An annular slide on the plunger can cover the first outlet opening so that a speed controller can axially shift the slide and thereby vary the venting of the working space into the relief space. An annular groove formed in the cylinder opens inward toward the plunger and a second outlet opening from the first relief duct also opens at the groove. A second relief duct formed in the plunger and opening at a respective second outlet opens at the groove and the second outlet openings are relatively spaced such that during a partial stroke of the pump plunger they communicate with each other via the groove. A first outlet opening of the second relief duct opens in the relief space generally at the slide and a control opening formed in the slide and opening into the relief space is alignable with the first outlet opening of the second duct. An interrupting device connected mechanically with an external load-controlling means, e.g. the accelerator, in a first operating state connects the first outlet opening of the second duct with the relief space via the control opening and in a second operation state disconnects that connection.
