    • The present invention provides a flashlight having a body with a light means at one end, a battery, and a circuit therebetween, so that when said circuit is closed said light means will generate light; recharging terminals for recharging said battery and an adaptor having electrical connectors for connecting to a power supply; structural connection means on said body and or said adaptor to releasably connect said body and said adaptor; and electrical connection means on both said body and said adaptor to releasably electrically connect said terminals and said adaptor. The present invention also provides a flashlight having a body with a light means at one end, a battery, and a circuit therebetween, so that when said circuit is closed said light means will generate light; said light means including a conical reflector, a white light LED emitting a conical light output and a double convex lens portion, said double convex lens portion being located away from said LED so that the outside diameter of said double convex lens portion will a circle of light from said LED which is of substantially the same diameter.

    • A closure mechanism particularly useful in a brewing device includes a cover member rotatably disposed above the brewing device. A slider member is slidably disposed within an interior cavity of the cover member and has one or more tabs which may extend outside of the interior cavity. The brewing device has one or more receptacles for receiving the tabs when the cover member is closed. A lid member on top of the cover member may push the tabs into the receptacles through a link member. A release arm is disposed within the brewing device and has at least one blocker which releasably holds a tab of the slider member within a receptacle when the cover member is closed.

    • Method and apparatus for transferring data to and from a data storage medium, such as a rotatable disc in a data storage device. The medium includes a data sector field with a physical length sufficient to store a first data block at a first write frequency. A compression engine compresses the first data block to provide a reduced size, compressed data block. The compressed data block is then written to the data sector field at a second write frequency less than the first write frequency so that the written compressed data block occupies substantially the physical length of said data sector field. This achieves a decreased linear bit density and tends to increase communication channel signal to noise (SNR) ratios and reduce error rates. Data slipping is further advantageously employed so that the first data block further stores at least a portion of a second compressed data block.
