摘要： Various enhancements are made to the architecture of a list processor to facilitate its use in implementing a message queue that is shared by queue managers residing across a multisystem complex. A new list structure control—a program list entry identifier indicator, or PLEIDI—is defined to allow the user to specify whether user-defined entry IDs are used when the list is allocated. A new delete list (DL) command is added that sequentially processes list entries in the order in which they exist on the specified list. A new move list entries (MLES) command provides a performance-optimized means to process an input list of entries. New key comparison functions and list monitoring enhancements have also been added. A new type of key called a secondary list entry key (SLEK) allows the user to specify a secondary key value as a means to identify a list entry.

Although the lock structure is owned by an exploiter of the lock structure, one or more objects of the lock structure are copied via an operating system of the computing environment. The one or more objects are copied from the lock structure to another lock structure of the computing environment. Both lock structures may be located within the same shared storage processor or within different shared storage processors.

摘要： Apparatus and method insuring that data objects used to maintain state information for shared data at a local central processing complex (CPC) are coherent with respect to state information maintained at a structured external storage facility (SES) over a link is valid. An error detector is attached to the CPC side of the link for detecting errors on the link, and, when an error is detected, setting a error state pending (ESP) latch to indicate that the link has failed and that the shared data in the local data object may be invalid because a message invalidating the data may not have been received by the CPC. In data processing operations, the ESP latch is interrogated by a central processor in the CPC to determine the health of the message path to the SES facility. A local cache vector reflecting the validity of the shared data in the local cache may then be interrogated to determine if the shared data in the local cache is valid. If a healthy path has continuously existed and the vector indicates that the local cache data is valid, the integrity of the data can be relied on.
