    • A method and apparatus and associated components are described for producing a cellular tissue structure including a wall surrounding a space or passage. A suspension of cells is introduced into a culture vessel (70) of elongate tubular form defining an internal tissue formation surface. The vessel is rotated about a rotary axis to cause the cells in the suspension to move under the influence of centrifugal force to collect and form a layer on the tissue formation surface. The layer is then exposed to a tissue culture medium. The tissue formation surface is preferably resiliently compressive and a pulsed or other time-varying pressure is preferably applied during at least the maturation phase of formation of the cellular tissue structure. Various forms of apparatus are described to allow a large array of elongate culture vessels to be built and serviced in common or individually.

    • Air cushioned spraying apparatus for spraying vegetation with chemicals while being supported above the ground by an air cushion effect has a unit with at least three air cushion cells. Each cell has a substantially cylindrical rigid body with a closed upper end and an open lower end, and a flexible skirt secured to and extending around the periphery of the open lower end of the rigid body. Each cell also has a spray nozzle projecting downwardly into the body from the closed upper end and an air inlet in the body adjacent the upper end thereof. The cells are connected together so that the path of travel of each cell laterally overlaps the path of travel of another cell. Air under pressure is supplied to the cell inlets to cause air to pass therethrough and downwardly in the cell body to disperse the chemicals from the nozzle onto vegetation within the lower open end of the cell and to cause air to pass from the cell between the flexible skirt and the ground to create an air cushion effect.

    • A safety arrangement for use with a piece of equipment. The safety arrangement includes a signal generating unit for generating an optical signal, an elongate element, and a signal detecting unit. The elongate element is disposed along, about, around or through the piece of equipment and is capable of transmitting an optical signal. The signal detecting unit detects an optical signal. The signal generating unit is connected to the signal detecting unit by the elongate element such that the signal detecting unit is in optical communication with the signal detecting unit. The signal detecting unit is arranged to detect a change in the optical signal transmitted by the elongate element as a consequence of movement of the elongate element and, upon detection of the change in the signal, the detecting unit is configured to effect a change in the operation of the piece of equipment.

    • A safety switch assembly having a handle pivotably attached to a casing to allow selective operation of an electrical contact assembly. The handle is attached to the casing with a movable pivot such that excessive grip pressure renders the safety switch inoperable until the safety switch is reset. The handle is moveable responsive to grip pressures that range from no actuation to a first grip pressure. Actuation of the handle in this range controls operation of the electrical contact assembly. Gripping of the switch with a grip pressure greater than the first grip pressure moves the pivot such that the safety switch is rendered inoperable, or non-conductive, until manipulation of a reset actuator returns the pivot to a pivot position associated with the first operating zone. Such a construction provides a safety switch that can be rendered inoperable and reset to allow subsequent operation.
