摘要： In a halftone image formed on a printing plate for letterpress printing, a minimum halftone dot has a square main cluster consisting of 9 pixels and four sub-clusters located around the main cluster radially, each of which is one pixel. Each sub-cluster contacts with only a vertex of the main cluster. Convex portions corresponding to the minimum halftone dots in the halftone image are formed on the printing plate. A convex portion corresponding to the main cluster is supported by convex portions corresponding to the sub-clusters to increase the strength of relief corresponding to the minimum halftone dot. Reliefs corresponding to the minimum halftone dots are normally formed regardless of a dot area rate of highlight area to thereby improve reproduction in printing of the halftone image.

摘要： A subject for the invention is to provide: a light diffusing sheet which, when incorporated in a direct-backlight unit, brings about high uniformity of luminance and a high average luminance; and a backlight unit having the sheet incorporated therein.The light diffusing sheet of the invention is made of a light-transmitting resin and has a sheet upper surface serving as a light emission side and a sheet lower surface serving as a light entrance side. It has a constitution in which small recesses having a shape which is any of the shapes of an inverted polyangular pyramid, inverted truncated polyangular pyramid, inverted cone, and inverted truncated cone or small protrusions having a shape which is any of the shapes of a polyangular pyramid, truncated polyangular pyramid, cone, and truncated cone have been formed in order in the sheet upper surface and sheet lower surface, and the inclined angle between the horizontal plane and the inclined face or ridgeline of each small recess or small protrusion in the sheet upper surface is larger than the inclined angle between the horizontal plane and the inclined face or ridgeline of each small recess or small protrusion in the sheet lower surface. This constitution improves average luminance and uniformity of luminance. The backlight unit of the invention has a constitution in which the light diffusing sheet has been disposed over linear light sources disposed in parallel in a lengthwise or crosswise direction.

Upon removing a tube 3 increased in diameter and fixed to a tube-sheet 1, an inserted portion 3a which is fixed to a tube-hole 2 of the tube-sheet 1 is heated and then cooled, thereby reducing its diameter. The inserted portion 3a is loosened from the tube-hole 2. Then, a region 3h opposed to a groove 4 formed in an inner circumference of the tube-hole is heated to a red-hot state, and the tube 3 is stretched in its axial direction, the red-heated region 3h is stretched to reduce its diameter and cut the region 3h, thereby pulling out the tube 3 from the tube-sheet 1.

摘要： An electronic typewriter has a vertical tab key for printing one continuous vertical line, extending in a plurality of printing lines. By operating the vertical tab key, a control unit detects a set paper feed amount and feeds the paper reversely to a position whereat printing of a vertical line is done, in alignment with a vertical line printed in a previous printing line, thereby to print a continuous vertical line. The paper is fed forwards by an amount less than the unit length of vertical line which can be an amount less than a unit length of the vertical line as one character, and then the vertical line is printed. Such operations are repeated so that one vertical line continues from the vertical line of the previous printing line to the present printing line.
