    • An adjustable soft palate support and an implantation method are provided. The adjustable soft palate support is a flat implant made of a material capable of being implanted into a human body for a long term, including a hard palate connecting end and a support. The support is a flat implant capable of being inserted into a soft palate, and is connected to the hard palate connecting end. The hard palate connecting end includes a connecting structure and an adjustment mechanism connected to a hard palate. The connecting structure on the hard palate connecting end is configured to fix the support to the hard palate, and the adjustment mechanism on the hard palate connecting end is configured to control the movement or a curvature of the support or a lifting degree of the soft palate. Since the hard palate connecting end is fixed to the hard palate, and the support is implanted into a muscular layer of the soft palate, a relaxed and collapsed soft palate and a root portion of a tongue are lifted by using the hard palate as a supporting point. Since swallowing occurs frequently in a non-sleep state, the adjustment mechanism is set to be in an on state, so that the support implanted into the soft palate can move with the natural swinging of the soft palate, so as to reduce interference with swallowing; and before sleep, a control key of the adjustment mechanism on the hard palate is pushed with a finger or an apex of tongue to set the adjustment mechanism to be in an off state, so that the support implanted into the soft palate can lift the soft palate, and change a central axis of the soft palate during natural swinging by lifting the soft palate towards the tongue root, so as to enlarge an airway of a pharynx during breathing, thereby achieving the objectives of treating snoring and obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).

    • An implanted soft palate support and an implantation method are provided. The implanted soft palate support is a flat implant made of a material capable of being implanted into human tissues for a long time period, and includes a hard palate connecting end and a support. The hard palate connecting end has a connecting structure connected with a hard palate; the support is a flat implant capable of being inserted into a soft palate; and the hard palate connecting end is connected to the support. The implanted soft palate support can achieve the objectives of treating OSAHS and snoring by effectively lifting the collapsed soft palate during sleep and thereby reducing an upper airway obstruction condition. In particular, the soft palate support can be adjusted within a certain range to calibrate its shape and curvature event after the surgery, so as to achieve optimal treatment and comfort.

    • A method and an apparatus are provided for combining spatial and temporal filtering for blood speckle reduction in high frequency ultrasound images wherein a sequence of image frames is processed to produce a binary mask. In this mask, a first value is assigned to regions of identified blood speckles and a second value is assigned to regions of the remainder. The images are then modulated with the mask, i.e., by applying different filtering techniques to assigned blood regions and assigned nonblood (i.e., tissue) regions, the filtering techniques having been selected to optimize images for the type of feature to be highlighted based on differences in frequency sensitivity between blood and tissue. The images are preferably in polar coordinate format. The degree of blood speckle suppression can be determined based on the actual values of the pixels at the same spatial location in given frames.

    • The present invention relates to a layered soft palate support and an implantation method for treating sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome or snoring. The layered soft palate support is a flat implant made of a material capable of being implanted into a human body for a long term, and includes a hard palate connecting end and a support. The support is a layered structure formed by stacking two or more layers of supporting plates and capable of being inserted into a soft palate, and is removably or irremovably fixed to the hard palate connecting end. The hard palate connecting end has a connecting structure connected with a hard palate, and is fixed to the hard palate through the connecting structure. The support is implanted into a muscular layer of the soft palate, and is inserted into the soft palate by a length equal to ⅕ to ⅘ of its total length.
