摘要： A process for preparing an ultra stable catalyst capable of converting the noxious components in exhaust gases to innocuous entities is described. The catalyst is made by applying a solution of a salt of a noble metal such as palladium or platinum to a specially prepared support followed by activation at 1,800*2,100*F. The special support is prepared by activating and stabilizing common support materials such as alumina with cerium oxide at high temperatures prior to application of the noble metal. The catalyst is stable to 2,100*F.

摘要： Novel structures suitable for the formation of waterproof and/or adhesive layers on surfaces, particularly of concrete, the structures comprising a sheet-like substrate and contiguous thereto a membrane of a water-proofing pressure-sensitive adhesive. The substrate may be a sheet-like support having the membrane adherent thereto or be in the form of a protective coating which can be physically removed from the membrane without substantial damage thereto. If desired, the structures may be in the form of a roll comprising alternate layers of the membrane and sheet-like substrate, one face thereof being substantially more readily physically separable from the membrane than the other face. The structure may have the membrane entending or extensible by cold flow beyond the edge of the sheet-like support and may have a protective sheet which can be used as a means for applying a roll of the structure.

The molecule includes unsaturated carbon-to-carbon bonds connected by a divalent chemically compatible derivative to a stable, organic, polyvalent, and polymeric member free of reactive carbon-tocarbon unsaturation and free of highly water-sensitive members. The new class of liquid polyene compositions which have a molecular weight in the range of 300 to 20,000, and a viscosity in the range from essentially 0 to 20 million centipoises at 70*C., may usefully form a component of a system which upon curing in the presence of a free radical generator and a polythiol, forms odorless, solid, elastomeric products. The cured products may be used as sealants, coatings, adhesives and molded articles.

The crystallization reaction is terminated after the desired quantity of zeolite has been formed, and the excess silicate is gelled to form an amorphous hydrogel matrix therefor. The gaskets of the invention are seated in closures which are threaded or in which a thread can be formed when the closure is fitted onto the neck of the container. The gaskets are characterised by having a substantially flat central portion and an adjoining peripheral portion which at all points is of greater thickness than the central panel. The thickness of the peripheral portion increases continuously, stepwise or part-continuously and part-stepwise radially outwards to the skirt of the closure. The radial length (x) between the centre of the closure and the beginning of the peripheral portion is 0.25 to 0.45 times the diameter of the closure.

摘要： The invention disclosed is for a laminated fabric and particularly carpet fabric, wherein a resinous foam core is sandwiched between and bonded to two outer surface layers. The resinous foam core consists essentially of a hydrophilic crosslinked polyurethane component prepared by reacting an isocyanate capped polyoxyethylene polyol reactant with large amounts of an aqueous reactant. After the sandwich structure of fabric-resin-fabric is formed, the resin is foamed and cured following which it is split into two substantially identical foam backed laminates. Alternately, the two backings may be different if desired. Desirably, the exposed foam surface of the laminate is texture treated prior to use. The resultant fabric laminate may be characterized with a broad spectrum of improved properties including improved comfort, moisture control, ease of processing and when containing selective additives, with fire retardancy, sound deadening or like characteristics.
