    • An anesthesia delivery device can be coupled to a ventilation system. The device includes an inspiratory gas line having a machine end and a patient end. The machine end can be fluidly coupled to the ventilation system, and the patient end can be received within the naris of the patient. A face mask having a dome portion can cover the patient's nose without covering the patient's mouth and defines an inside air space between the patient's nose and the dome portion, and an outside air space exterior of the dome portion. A vent allows gas to pass between the inside and outside air spaces. An exhaust port can be fluidly coupled to the exhaust gas output. The exhaust port and vent can cooperatively exert a negative pressure on the outside air space for preventing inspiratory gas from entering the outside air space.

    • A non-tracheal ventilation tube includes a multi-lumen tube shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, a proximal cuff and a distal cuff. The multi-lumen tube shaft is separated into a ventilation channel extending from a proximal ventilation opening to a distal ventilation opening, a suction channel extending from a proximal suction opening to a distal suction opening, and an inflation channel. The proximal cuff is attached to the tube shaft and is connected to the inflation channel for inflation and deflation. The distal cuff is attached to the tube shaft on the distal side of the proximal cuff and is connected to the inflation channel for inflation and deflation. The proximal suction opening and the proximal ventilation opening are located on the proximal side of the proximal cuff. The distal suction opening is located on the distal side of the distal cuff. The distal ventilation opening is located between the proximal cuff and the distal cuff. The outside diameter of the tube shaft decreases between the proximal cuff and the distal cuff due to the ending of the ventilation channel.

    • A sleeved filter apparatus prevents germs from becoming resident on both the interior and exterior of a breathing device. The sleeved filter apparatus includes a filter member and a sleeve member. The filter member is composed of a first and second enclosure half which are sealed on their interior ends. The external ends of the two enclosure halves have connectors for connecting the sleeved filter apparatus to a breathing device and/or a patient airway component. A filter element is disposed inside the filter member enclosure for preventing gases from flowing between the first connector and the second connector of the filter member without passing through the filter element. This filter member prevents germs from passing between the patient and the interior of the breathing device. The sleeve member is made of a flexible material, and has a first open end, a second open end, and a middle portion extending between the first open end and the second open end. The first open end of the sleeve member is sealingly engaged to the filter member. The sleeve member has a diameter sized to surround the breathing circuit, and a length sufficient to extend along most or all of the entire length of the breathing circuit. The sleeve member prevents germs and bacteria from passing between the patient and the exterior of the breathing device. The sleeved filter apparatus is removable between procedures to permit reuse of the breathing circuit without substantial cross-contamination between patients.

    • A unilimb breathing circuit has a proximal end coupling member, a distal end coupling member, an expiratory tube extending between the proximal and distal end coupling members, and an inspiratory tube extending between the proximal and distal end coupling members. The expiratory tube is a corrugated expiratory tube that is expandable between a fully compressed rest position, and a fully expanded rest position, and has a plurality of intermediate rest positions. At the plurality of intermediate rest positions, the expiratory tube is capable of maintaining its rest length without the exertion of an external force. The inspiratory tube is a corrugated inspiratory tube having a length that is variable between a fully compressed rest position and a fully expanded rest position, and includes a plurality of intermediate rest positions between the fully expanded rest position and the fully compressed rest position. The inspiratory tube is also capable of maintaining these intermediate rest positions without the exertion of an external force.
