    • A storage rack for flat-shaped stock (4) is provided having at least one rack unit (2) which has several rack compartments arranged above one another to receive the stock (4). A rack control unit controls placement of the stock in storage or its removal. The rack control unit is arranged to be vertically adjustable relative to the rack unit and has a lifting mechanism (6) for vertical adjustment. The lifting mechanism (6) has at least one bar (7, 8) extending generally in a vertical direction, allocated to the rack unit (2), and a drive wheel (9) allocated to the vertically adjustable rack control unit, and the drive wheel (9) interacts with the bar (7, 8) via a drive gear.

    • A rack module for, in particular, rod or plate-shaped storage goods accepted in transportation cases as well as a method for repositioning storage goods in a rack module is provided. The rack module is provided with several shelf spaces serving to receive the transportation cases as well as a storage and retrieval unit with a gripping device that can be displaced in reference to the storage and retrieval unit for repositioning the transportation cases. The transportation cases comprise pallets, with at least one lift truck for moving under and repositioning the pallets being provided, and a lifting device for raising and/or lowering one or more pallets, which can be operated by the gripping device of the storage and retrieval unit. Accordingly, the transportation cases in the form of pallets are repositioned by way of at least one lift truck, and for said purpose the lift truck undercuts at least the pallet to be repositioned and parts of the lift truck perform a lifting motion for raising the pallet, with the lifting motion of the lift truck again being caused by a gripping motion of the gripping device of the storage and retrieval unit.

    • A circular saw machine having a saw blade (1) that is movably held for back and forth motion during the sawing process. A forward and a rearward saw blade guide (4, 5) ensure the stability of the saw blade (1) while sawing. The saw blade guides (4, 5) respectively have contact surfaces (6), which abut on the respective side surfaces of the saw blade (1). In order to operate the circular saw machine with different saw blade diameters, the forward saw blade guide (5) is removable from, or pivotable away from, the saw blade (1), and the saw blade itself is interchangeable. The radial positioning of the contact surfaces (6) of the saw blade guides (4, 5) is variable. This can be accomplished by interchanging the whole saw blade guide (5), but also in particular by a mounting (12), pivotable with respect to the saw blade guide (4, 5) and to which the contact surface (6) is fixed.

    • An apparatus for transferring long stock (3) from or to either of two storage racks (1) arranged in parallel to each other, to a processing station, such as a saw. The apparatus is located in an aisle (4) between the storage racks and has a pair of arms (18, 19, 20, 20a) arranged in a parallel linkage system. The arms are journalled on the apparatus for simultaneous pivotal movement. The free end of each pair of arms has a conveyor (9, 10) mounted thereon to extend in parallel and adjacent to the storage racks (1) between upper and lower positions which for each conveyor are substantially identical. A hoist is provided for loading long stock onto, and remove it from, either conveyor (9, 10) in its upper position. In the lower position either conveyor (9, 10) is aligned with a processing station.

    • A gantry crane for storing (or removing) long cassettes containing rod-shaped material on (or from) racks for supporting such cassettes at both rack ends travels on rails raised above the bottom of an array of such racks, but only part way up to the tops of the racks which the crane bridges over with its traveling bridge. There are aisles between the parallel racks and each rack can be loaded on either of its sides. Load-lifting forks at each rack end can be lowered into an aisle from above and then, with a movement of the crane, inserted below a cassette on either side of the aisle to remove it, center it in the aisle, lift it above the racks and transport it to another aisle for lowering into a work place or storing it in a different place. The load-lifting forks are guided in a usual way above the rails, but a guide member that does not otherwise extend below the rail level is constrained to be moved with a load-lifting fork when that fork moves below the rail level, in order to guide the load-lifting forks in that height range. The constraints are provided by chains, some of which are driven, and two of which have one end connected to a counterweight.
