    • A framing mirror provided on the front part of a camera for enabling observation of the range of the scene to be photographed from the front of the camera is used for various displays by a liquid crystal display device. Various operation modes are set by a mode selection member and the state of the display portion of the liquid crystal display device arranged in front of the framing mirror changes in accordance with the set operation mode to effect various displays. In at least one of the operation modes the whole display portion of the liquid crystal display device becomes transparent, whereby it is possible to observe the framing mirror from the front of the camera. Alternatively, the framing mirror has a transparent portion at a marginal position and the liquid crystal display device is arranged behind the transparent portion so as to be observable from the front of the camera. The liquid crystal display device displays the same data as displayed by another liquid crystal display device which is arranged behind the framing mirror, for recording data on a photographic film.

    • An automatic exposure control system for a single lens reflex camera, of the type wherein diaphragm blades defining a diaphragm aperture are driven in response to a camera release operation to change the aperture in accordance with the light from an object to be photographed (object light) as measured by a light measuring device which has a photoelectric element adapted to receive the object light through changing diaphragm aperture as well as through the camera objective. When the output of the light measuring device reaches or goes beyond a given level, a control device generates an output signal to actuate a first electromagnetic device which stops the operation of the diaphragm blades so that a diaphragm aperture suitable for the object brightness is determined as a function of a set shutter speed and a set film sensitivity. The output signal also serves to actuate a second electromagnetic device which actuates a reflex mirror immediately after the diaphragm aperture determination, with a shutter mechanism being actuated subsequently for film exposure. The shutter may be controlled in accordance with the output of the light measuring circuit which measures the scene brightness through the determined diaphragm aperture.

    • A camera is equipped with a member bearing data to be photographed such as a date and the like and a data light focusing optical system for projecting the illuminated data from the data member at the front of the camera rearwardly with the object light toward the data photographing portion of the film. The data light focusing optical system is arranged so that the data light is directed to be incident on the data photographing portion of the film from a direction different from the incident direction of the object light. Provided in the front of the data photographing portion of the film is an object light incidence limiting member which is positioned parallel with the plane of the film and allows the transmission of the data light therethrough but interrupts the object light directed toward the data light focusing portion of the film.

    • An exposure indicating device for single lens reflex cameras which are selectively settable to automatic aperture control or automatic shutter speed control modes includes an exchangeable lens which has first and second information transmitting members, and a diaphragm setting member settable to one of a number of manually set aperture positions and to an automatic aperture control position. The first transmitting member transmits to a first information receiving member, first information of the step-difference from a minimum to a preset f-number of the lens independently of the set position of the diaphragm setting member. The second transmitting member transmits to a second information receiving member, second information of a maximum f-number only when the diaphragm setting member is set to the automatic aperture control position. The second transmitting member also serves as a mode selection and scale selection member which switches the camera into the automatic aperture control mode and enables observation of an aperture scale within a finder view field when the diaphragm setting member is set to the automatic aperture control position. The second transmitting member also switches the camera into the automatic shutter speed control mode and enables observation of a shutter speed scale within the finder view field when the diaphragm setting member is set to any one of the manually set aperture positions. The first information thus received enables automatic shutter speed control, and indication of an automatically controlled shutter speed prior to a stopping-down operation. The first and second information thus received are composed with each other, only in the automatic aperture control mode, to generate information of the minimum f-number of the lens, which enables indication of an f-number corresponding to an automatically controlled aperture prior to the stopping-down operation.
