    • A cable sleeve includes a covering body having a front-face end defining a circumferential, conically tapered flange. At least one front-face sealing body is positioned adjacent the covering body and has a circumferential, U-shaped sealing groove. A ring seal in inserted into the sealing groove of the sealing body. The ring seal has an L-shaped cross-section and has a first leg that received within the sealing groove of the sealing body and a second leg having a tapered course on both sides broadening towards the first leg. A straining ring fastens the ring seal between the flange of the covering body and the sealing groove of the sealing body.

    • An equipment box, in particular a splice box, including a first portion having an opening which is closed off in sealed manner by a second portion in abutment against a gasket positioned at the edge of the opening, and also a slot in the zone in which the second portion abuts against the first portion, the slot providing access for a cable via a configuration enabling the cable to be inserted transversely. A neck carried by the first portion surrounds said slot except in the direction in which the slot opens out at the edge of the opening. A sealing member formed by a sleeve is provided with a laterally projecting element providing abutment continuity for the linear gasket at the slot. The sleeve as positioned around the cable in a neck is subjected to the action of a presser device which is mounted at the end of the neck so as to compress the sleeve and a gasket fitted around the cable in the sleeve.

    • A pedestal closure assembly has an upper housing section and a separate lower housing section, each of which include front walls, rear walls, and two side walls. These housing sections are structured and dimensioned for telescoping nesting with first and second positive locking mechanisms for a friction fit. These housing sections when locked together form an integral housing structure which has an interior space for protectively accommodating electrical, power supply or telecommunications equipment. This housing structure may be constructed of non-metallic material. The first positive locking mechanism and second locking mechanism may be positioned across from each other on opposite side walls of the housing sections, and, even more preferably, may be aligned diagonally from each other on opposite side walls of the housing sections. The lower housing section may include raised ribs to enhance the friction fit of the assembled housing sections.

    • Transmission cable enclosure with a resiliently flexible cable sealing member within an inlet passage of a housing of the enclosure. The sealing member surrounds the cable when installed and a device is provided to apply a constant compressive force axially upon the sealing member. This constant force resiliently deforms the sealing member inwards to continuously seal against the cable irrespective of ambient temperature and pressure conditions. Also provided is a device for gripping the cable close to the sealing member to prevent axial movement of the cable at this location. The arrangement is suitable for passage of a single length or two closely positioned lengths of cable passing through the inlet passage.

    • A reenterable protective housing for protecting telecommunications equipment from detrimental environmental effects contains a reenterable splice enclosure. The protective housing includes a base portion, a bulkhead member, a dome member selectively attachable to the bulkhead member and a sealing assembly for selectively sealing the dome member to the bulkhead member. The dome is selectively reenterable for access to the contents thereof while maintaining the splice enclosure in a sealed condition. The splice enclosure is selectively engageable with the bulkhead member for providing reenterable access to splice connections retained therein.
