摘要： An object of the invention is to provide a circuit technique which enables reduction in power consumption and high definition of a display device. A switch controlled by a start signal is provided to a gate electrode of a transistor, which is connected to a gate electrode of a bootstrap transistor. When the start signal is input, a potential is supplied to the gate electrode of the transistor through the switch, and the transistor is turned off. The transistor is turned off, so that leakage of a charge from the gate electrode of the bootstrap transistor can be prevented. Accordingly, time for storing a charge in the gate electrode of the bootstrap transistor can be shortened, and high-speed operation can be performed.

Corresponding to this operation, a display controller functions to make start pulses and clock pulses input to each driver circuit have a lower frequency, and write in periods and display periods of sub-frame periods participating in display are set longer.

The data driver includes a compensator generating the compensation data signal in accordance with a feedback voltage. The feedback voltage is determined by a degree of deterioration associated with each pixel, and increases with an increasing deterioration degree of the pixel.

摘要： An EL display apparatus according to the present invention includes EL device (15) adapted to emit light at a luminance corresponding to a current fed thereto. A source driver (14) outputs a current higher than a current corresponding to an image signal to the EL device (16) through a source signal line (18). This operation charges/discharges a parasitic capacitance present in the source signal line (18). A transistor (11d) formed between the EL device (15) and the source driver (14) operates so that the EL device (15) is fed with the current for only a part of a one-frame period. As a result, the El device (15) emits light for only the part of the period.

The display driver circuitry may receive the test data via the data link and detect bit errors based at least partly on the test data. An indication of the bit errors may be displayed on an array of pixels of the display or provided to the timing controller via a separate back channel data link.
