    • An apparatus and method for controlling an audio/video (AV) device. A first AV device is adapted to receive a remote control signal, selectively modulate the received remote control signal, and transfer the modulated remote control signal along with an audio signal over an audio line. A second AV device is adapted to receive the modulated remote control signal transferred along with the audio signal over the audio line, separate the received remote control signal from the received audio signal, demodulate the separated remote control signal, and perform an operation corresponding to the demodulated remote control signal. Therefore, it is possible to normally control an AV device even though a user involuntarily operates a remote controller of the AV device toward the screen of a TV under the condition that the AV device is placed far from the TV or the angle defined by the TV, user and AV device is large.

    • A method of and an apparatus for sorting data traffic based on a predetermined priority such as a bandwidth and a liveliness is provided. The method includes operations of: receiving the data flows; sorting the data flows based on bandwidth by defining a plurality of bandwidth ranges and classifying the sorted data flows according to the bandwidth ranges to which the bandwidth of each data flow belongs; and sorting the classified data flows based on liveliness representing frequency of occurrence of the data flows. The sorting of the classified data lows determines that the data flow which is recently received has the higher liveliness and sorts the data flows based on the determination. The method and apparatus facilitates selecting data flows which are possible hostile attack attempts from a vast amount of data traffic and allowing selective and intensive monitoring of the selected data flows.

According to the present invention, the proteins of interest can be purified in high yield and purity. In addition, complicated separating processes required in the production of recombinant proteins can be eliminated so as to cut down the production cost.

    • A fast high precision matching method receives an input image and a template. An initial search method uses the input image and the template to create an initial search result output. A high precision match uses the initial search result, the input image, and the template to create a high precision match result output. The high precision match method estimates high precision parameters by image interpolation and interpolation parameter optimization. The high precision match method also performs robust matching by limiting pixel contribution or pixel weighting. An invariant high precision match method estimates subpixel position and subsampling scale and rotation parameters by image interpolation and interpolation parameter optimization on the log-converted radial-angular transformation domain. This invention provides a fast method for high precision matching with the equivalent subpixel and subsampling interpolation in the image or template domain without actual performing the subpixel interpolation and/or subsampling. It achieves the high precision through sampling parameter optimization. Therefore, very fine sampling precision can be accomplished without the difficulty of high resolution image/template storage and expensive computation for actual matching at high resolution. This invention is generalized to include the high precision scale and rotation invariant matching through parameter optimization on log-converted radial-angular coordinate. This invention can be easily generalized to three-dimensional or higher dimensional invariant high precision pattern search and can achieve even greater speed advantage comparing to the prior art methods. Therefore, it can be used in applications such as 3D medical imaging, dynamic medical imaging, confocal microscopy, live cell assays in drug discovery, or ultrasound imaging.
