摘要： A synthetic vascular prosthesis comprises a hollow tubular base member having a multitude of continuous pores and formed of an elastomer material, and a hydrogel layer formed on the inner surface of the base member. The hydrogel layer is partly embedded in the inner portion of the base member at the pores, thereby permitting anchoring adhesion between the hydrogel layer and the base member. A method for manufacturing the synthetic vascular prosthesis is also disclosed, in which the formation of pores in the base member is effected by two separate steps and the hydrogel layer is formed after formation of an inner porous portion of the base member.

摘要： A method of manufacture of a foam core board is described as well as vehicle trim panels made from such board. A foam board having a cell structure including a structure with large cells in a center portion is initially formed. This board is skived into two separate panels, each having one surface with relatively large cell structure and wherein said cells have been opened by the skiving process. This surface acts to promote enhanced sound absorption from the foam core board. This board may be laminated with appropriate decorative material and molded to make contoured resilient vehicle trim panels.

The laminated structure can be produced by extrusion-laminating a non-foamed surface skin layer of a propylene-type polymer to one surface of each of two cured foamed sheets each comprising a propylene-type polymer and an ethylene-type polymer to thereby form two laminates, placing the two laminates such that the surfaces of the cured foamed sheets face each other, and melting and bonding the facing two surfaces to form a substantially non-foamed or lowly foamed heat-fused layer between the laminates.

A first layer is adapted for placement against the body of a horse (for a saddle pad) or the body of a person (for a mattress pad) and is made of a plurality of elongated hydrophobic fibers which wick moisture and perspiration away from the body. A water storage and energy dissipation cushion layer made of foam material is attacthed to the first layer through a hydrophobic membrane layer which has pore sizes to permit passage of water vapor from the first layer to the cushion layer, and which blocks the passage of water droplets in the opposite direction from the cushion layer to the first layer. The opposite side of the cushion layer is covered with a water impervious protective layer, typically made of vinyl material.

The spiral coil carrier is plated under tension and heated to cause the spiral coils to extend longitudinally to define spaced upper and lower substantially flat surfaces. A yieldable, porous batt of synthetic fibrous material is needled into and onto one surface of the carrier. As an alternative structure, a yieldable, porous, open cell foam is applied to the spiral coil carrier to fill the interior thereof, and to extend outwardly from one surface to form an outer foam layer. The belts are particularly suitable as pressure and transporting belts in a corrugating machine, but can also be used in wet press and dryer sections of papermaking machines.

The board includes an insulating panel of foam plastic resin, preferably polystyrene, and a layer of lightweight concrete bonded thereto. The lightweight concrete preferably includes a lightweight aggregate and is foamed and further includes a latex. A latex adhesive is used to bond the concrete layer to the foam plastic layer. Reinforcing material may be included in the concrete.
