摘要： A faulty weft yarn removing apparatus for a loom, having weft yarn extracting devices disposed on the picking side and receiving side of a fabric, respectively, capable of removing the faulty weft yarns (Y1, Y2) smoothly even when the phenomena of long pick and broken pick both occur. A control circuit determines the long pick or the broken pick when the yarn signals (S1, S2) transmitted from the weft yarn feelers are present, first actuates a weft yarn extracting device disposed on the picking side and if there is a yarn signal (S2) after a specified time passes, actuates the weft yarn extracting device on the receiving side. The weft yarn extracting device is capable of removing the faulty weft yarn (Y1) to the picking side of the fabric and the weft yarn extracting device is capable of removing the faulty weft yarn (Y2) to the receiving side of the fabric.

摘要： A transfer tail forming apparatus for weft feeders fed to a weaving machine, wherein a tail end of a feeder now in use and a leading end of a preliminary feeder are connected together using a knotter. The tail end and the leading end are automatically positioned and held in a predetermined position by a positioning apparatus, and the yarn ends are connected together by the knotter to form a transfer tail. Further, by the provision of a stand-by apparatus the transfer tail is held in a predetermined posture, and when the whole quantity of the weft on the feeder now in use has been consumed, the leading end of the preliminary feeder can be introduced into the weaving machine in a continuous manner. Moreover, when the supply of weft from the feeder now in use is discontinued, the introduction of the leading end from the preliminary feeder is made possible by the stand-by apparatus. Additionally, by combining with the apparatus a conveyance cassette having a yarn end fixing member at the time of conveyance of a feeder to a feeder stand, the leading end and tail end of the feeder can be held automatically for the above positioning apparatus.

摘要： A picking period setting device for a loom to decide an appropriate picking period for satisfactory picking operations. A shedding curve calculating circuit is used which calculates shedding curves representing the shedding motion of heddle frames. A shedding stroke calculating circuit calculates a set of desired shedding stroke curves. An appropriate picking period deciding circuit decides a precise picking period defined by the crank angles of the loom on the basis of the result of comparison of the shedding curves and the desired shedding stroke curves. Thus, the weaving operation of the loom is continued without interruptions caused by faulty picking.
