    • A high voltage protecting circuit in a cathode ray tube apparatus which comprises a main power switch adapted to be connected in series with an electric power source, a flyback transformer having primary, secondary and third windings, a rectifying circuit connected with the main power switch for rectifying a power source voltage originating from the power source and to be supplied to the flyback transformer, a switching device connected between the main power switch and rectifying circuit and provided with a control terminal, and a high voltage detecting and controlling device for comparing an output voltage, produced across the third winding of the flyback transformer, with a reference voltage and for generating a control signal when the output voltage exceeds the reference voltage. The control signal is utilized to hold the switching device in an OFF position.

    • A focus indicator for a TV camera includes a first image sensor and a video processor which convert an object image to a first video signal, an optical system for exit pupil dividing part of the object image to prepare a split image, and a second image sensor for converting the split image to a second video signal. A composing circuit generates a composite video signal from the first and second video signals in such a way as to include the split image component, and a viewfinder displays an image including the split image. A user of the TV camera thus can perform focusing by observing the split image in the viewfinder.

    • An apparatus for detecting focus conditions of an imaging optical system is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a light flux dividing means having a plurality of light flux dividing elements arranged at a predetermined focal plane or near a plane conjugated therewith, a photoelectric conversion means having a plurality of light receiving elements arranged to receive light fluxes divided by respective light flux dividing elements in line therewith and means for detecting focus conditions of the imaging optical system based on the outputs of the light receiving elements. The photoelectronic conversion means is so arranged that the cross-section of light fluxes incident upon respective light receiving elements at the exit pupil of the imaging optical system includes regions which are not overlapped with each other.

    • In the valve mechanism of an internal combustion engine of the overhead camshaft type, a camshaft holder mounted on the cylinder head and supporting rocker shafts thereon has two bearing recesses having a generally semicylindrical shape, formed in a side surface remote from the cylinder head for supporting a pair of rocker shafts received therein, and a lubricating oil passage formed therein and communicating a lubricating oil passage formed in the cylinder head with the hollow interior of one of the rocker shafts. The camshaft holder is further formed therein with two communication passages communicating a peripheral groove formed in a bearing surface opening in a side surface facing the cylinder head for supporting the camshaft, respectively, with two annular gaps defined between two bolt-fitting holes and two bolts extending therethrough to fix the rocker shafts and the camshaft holder to the cylinder head. Lubricating oil supplied to the hollow interior of the above one rocker shaft through the lubricating oil passages is delivered to the hollow interior of the other rocker shaft through one of the annular gaps, one of the communication passages, the peripheral groove, the other communication passage and the other annular gap in the mentioned order.

    • In a method for detecting a tracking error of a light spot with respect to a track recorded spirally or concentrically on an optical video or audio disc on which a light beam emitted from a laser light source is to be focused as a light spot by an objective lens, a light flux reflected by the disc is made incident upon a photo-detector having four light receiving regions divided in orthogonal directions to generate four output signals, two output signals from two pairs of diagonally arranged regions are summed to produce first and second sum signals, and a tracking error signal is derived by detecting a phase difference between the first and second sum signals. In order to detect the phase difference, the first and second sum signals are supplied to first and second band pass filters, respectively and first and second limiter circuits, respectively to produce first and second zero cross signals and a phase difference between the first and second zero cross signals is detected by a phase comparator. It is possible to effect the tracking control in a stable manner without being affected by amplitude variation of the first and second sum signals and by frequency modulated components included in the first and second sum signals.

    • The disclosed video-tape recording and reproducing apparatus, includes a system to transform the field signal into multi-channel signals; a number of modulators to produce modulated carrier waves, modulated by each of the multi-channel signals; a system to provide a fixed time delay to the modulated carrier waves, and also to mix the delayed carrier wave into the modulated carrier waves of neighboring channels as a cancellation signal for cross talk current; and a multi-channel head for recording and reproducing the output of the mixing system, to achieve elimination of cross talk current caused by interference between heads during recording. The delaying system includes delay lines to delay the modulated carrier waves a fixed time, and mixers to mix the delayed carrier waves with other channels' modulated carrier waves.
