    • A pump is comprised of a housing within which a rotary piston is rotatably mounted, to define therebetween an annular conveying channel between an inlet port and an outlet port. Annular sealing rings between the piston and housing seal the conveying channel at the periphery of the piston. A stopper extends into the conveying channel in the back flow path, and sealing elements are provided to seal the entire cross section of the back flow paths. Radially movable slides on the piston are resiliently urged into the conveying channel, the radial position thereof being controlled by a cam surface in the housing. The slides are urged radially outwardly by springs, and seals are provided on the piston for sealingly guiding the piston in the radial direction.

    • A fluid pump for use in explosive bore holes comprising an elongated outer housing having upper and lower ends and adapted to permit water to enter the interior thereof. A hydraulic motor is secured to and is positioned in the lower end of the outer housing. A pump housing extends upwardly from the hydraulic motor within the outer housing. A drive shaft rotatably extends upwardly from the hydraulic motor within the pump housing and has a rotor means connected thereto for rotation therewith. The rotor rotatably extends through a pump stator means which is positioned in the pump housing. A pair of hydraulic hoses are in communication with a source of hydraulic fluid under pressure and extend downwardly into the outer housing between the outer housing and pump housing. The hoses are fluidly connected to the hydraulic motor. A discharge line is fluidly connected to the upper end of the pump housing so that water in the bore hole will be pumped upwardly through the discharge line upon actuation of the hydraulic motor. Circuitry is provided to automatically deactivate the hydraulic motor when the water has been completely removed from the bore hole. Means is also provided to prevent rocks or the like from falling in the bore hole when the pump is positioned therein. Means is also provided for removing the fluid pump from the bore hole.

    • A rotary fluid engine powered by externally pressurized working fluid including a rotor and externally plurality of swinging arms positioned to engage with and impart a torque force to the rotor when the arms are driven sequentially inward by the selective admission of charges of externally pressurized working fluid. A first segment on the rotor surface engages the free end of each arm as the arm is driven inwardly and a second segment on the rotor surface operates to return the arm outwardly after the power impulse is completed. Valving and conduit means are provided to control the direction of the working fluid to the arms and exhaust means are provided to exhaust spent working fluid from the engine. In one embodiment, the valving and conduit means are adapted to direct charges of externally pressurized working fluid sequentially against said arms so that the engine operates as a simple engine. In a second embodiment, the valving and conduit means are adapted to direct charges of externally, pressurized working fluid first against one of said arms at a high pressure and secondly against another arm at a relatively lower pressure so that said engine operates as a compound engine. In a third embodiment, transfer valve means are provided which permit said engine to be switchable between said simple and compound modes of operation. The rotor surface may include a plurality of said first and second segments so that each arm will transmit a corresponding plurality of power impulses to the rotor for each complete rotor revolution.

    • An ingredient dispersing apparatus is disclosed for dispersing a semi-solid ingredient into a viscous fluid ingredient to produce a homogeneous dispersion. The invention comprises a mixer such as a gear pump to divide the semi-solid ingredient into discrete volumes and provisions for streaming the viscous fluid to remove the semi-solid ingredient from the mixer. The apparatus is easily cleaned and is desirable for use with food products such as ice cream, yogurt and the like. The foregoing abstract is merely a resume of one general application, is not a complete discussion of all principles of operation or applications and is not to be construed as a limitation on the scope of the claimed subject matter.
