摘要： Fire spikes and fire spike tips adapted to penetrate a surface and distribute a fire suppressant, such as, water, on the opposite side of the surface are provided. The fire spike tips include a cylindrical body having a first end adapted to be received by a conduit and a second end having a pointed projection adapted to penetrate the surface; an internal cavity in the cylindrical body having an open first end and a closed second end; a plurality of first orifices in the body, each of the plurality of first orifices directed in a first substantially radial direction; and a plurality of second orifices in the body, each of the plurality of second orifices directed in a second direction which at least partially intersects with the first direction of the plurality of first orifices. Kits for the fire spikes and methods of suppressing fire are also provided.

The device has a housing configured to be inserted in a hole formed in the structural element. The housing has a cylindrical body and a first face with an opening surrounded by an inwardly extending cylindrical socket. The housing has a second face, with an opening, which is attached to the cylindrical body. A movable nozzle connector in the housing has a connection portion configured to receive an inserted fire hose nozzle in a locking connection and a cylindrical nozzle stop portion extending from the connection portion. The nozzle stop portion is movably coupled within an interior of the socket of the first face.

摘要： This application relates to capacitors that resist deformation because of the configuration of their conductive and dielectric layers. The capacitors are multilayer capacitors that include multiple dielectric and conductive layers. The dielectric layers can be arranged in a way that creates a rigid barrier or dead zone, which can resist mechanical deformation when the multilayer capacitor is charged. In some embodiments, two or more multilayer capacitors are stacked together in an arrangement that causes each of the multilayer capacitors to cancel any deformations of the other when the multilayer capacitors are charged. In this way, noise exhibited by the multilayer capacitors can be reduced.

摘要： A fire-fighting vehicle includes a boom assembly movably coupled to a chassis, a penetrating nozzle coupled to the boom assembly, an actuator that moves the penetrating nozzle relative to the chassis, and a controller operatively coupled to a sensor. The penetrating nozzle includes a piercing tip and an outlet configured to be selectively fluidly coupled to a supply of fire suppressant. The piercing tip is repositionable between a first position spaced from a surface of an object and a second position within an interior cavity of the object. The outlet supplies fire suppressant into the interior cavity when the piercing tip is in the second position. The sensor provides data relating to at least one of a position and an orientation of the piercing tip relative to the surface. The controller determines an angular orientation of the piercing tip relative to the surface based on the data.

摘要： A smoke eliminator device is provided. The smoke eliminator device is especially suitable for removing smoke from a room or building so as to allow a firefighter to more easily rescue individuals and extinguish fires. The device is a lightweight elongated tube which connects to a standard fire hose. Water emitted from the distal end of the device creates a suction which pulls smoke out of the room or building. A glass-breaking device is located near a distal end of the device to allow the device to easily penetrate a window wherein it may be effective. A cooling nozzle allows for the extinguishing of fire by water spray. An extension may be added to the device to allow the device to be utilized in the upper floor of a building. The device may further have a bend which allows a user to utilize the device directly below a window of an upper floor.

摘要： A fire suppression and annunciation system using a flexible conduit and a wire rope is provided. The wire rope may be connected to a knob assembly at a universal pull station and to a release mechanism of the fire suppression system. An operator may pull a handle of the knob assembly at the universal pull station, thereby activating the release mechanism to release fire suppression agent. A flexible conduit may house the wire rope along at least a part of the connection from the universal pull station to the release mechanism. A material on the liner of the flexible conduit and/or on the wire rope may be used to reduce the coefficient of friction of wire rope in the flexible conduit. The fire suppression system may further include a pulley block system connected to the universal pull station. The pulley block system may comprise bearings, and may lower the force necessary to activate the release mechanism.

摘要： Fire-extinguishing system in an air filter system has an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber with a filter wall therebetween. The system includes a first and second sensor, a first and second fire extinguisher, and a control unit, the first sensor and the first extinguisher being disposed in the inlet chamber, the second extinguisher in an outlet chamber and the second sensor being disposed in an outlet of the outlet chamber. The control unit is connected to the first and second sensors, and to the first and second extinguishers. The control unit records a first and second fire-detection signal in the inlet chamber and the outlet, respectively; compares the first and second signals to an associated threshold value for fire; determines at which location within the inlet and outlet chamber the fire is burning, depending on the comparison; selects which of the first and at least one second extinguisher is located near the determined position, and activates one or more selected extinguishers.
