    • A thermal transfer medium comprising:a thermal transfer film comprising a substrate film and a hot-melt ink layer provided on said substrate film, said hot-melt ink layer containing a thermoplastic elastomer having a rubber elasticity; and an image receiving sheet superposed peelably onto said thermal transfer film on the side of said hot-melt ink layer; wherein (i) the thermal transfer medium is formed by separately preparing said image receiving sheet and said thermal transfer film, superposing said image receiving sheet on said thermal transfer film on the side of said hot-melt ink layer, and adhering said image receiving sheet and said thermal transfer film in a peelable manner; (ii) said hot-melt ink layer is formed by coating said substrate film with a hot-melt ink; (iii) the adhesive strength under shear in an area of adhesion between said thermal transfer film on the side of said hot-melt ink layer and a 25.times.55 m.sup.2 area of said image receiving sheet ranges from 300 to 2000 g; and (iv) the 90.degree. peeling strength at a printed portion of the thermal transfer medium after printing ranges from 0.1 to 50 g/25 mm.

    • When a temporary adhesive layer for peelable bonding a transfer-recieving material to a thermal transfer sheet comprising a substrate film and a heat-fusible ink layer disposed on one side thereof is caused to comprise a specific adhesive, an excellent composite thermal transfer material is provided. In such a composite thermal transfer sheet, the thermal transfer sheet is firmly bonded to the transfer-recieving material so as not to cause wrinkles or deviation, both of these members may easily be peeled from each other so that the ink layer is exactly transferred to the paper in a transfer region and is not transferred thereto at all in a non-transfer region, whereby the transfer-recieving material is not contaminated. Further, when at least one one end portion of a sheet-type composite thermal transfer sheet is fixed, there is provided a composite thermal transfer sheet wherein unintended peeling is prevented. Further, when an end portion of a co-winding type composite thermal transfer sheet is fixed, there is provided a composite thermal transfer wherein troubles in paperfeeding and printing is prevented. Further, when an end portion of a co-winding type composite thermal transfer sheet is preliminarily fixed to a winding tube, there is provided a composite thermal transfer sheet wherein the used thermal transfer sheet is easy to be handled and no problem occurs in secret-keeping.

    • A dry image-forming process is disclosed. The dry image-forming process of the invention comprises heat developing a light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least a photosensitive silver halide, a binder, and a dye releasing redox compound said dye releasing redox compound being reductive to the photosensitive silver halide and being capable of releasing a hydrophilic dye upon reaction with the photosensitive silver halide under heating, after or simultaneously with imagewise exposure, to form imagewise a mobile hydrophilic dye and heating, after simultaneously with the heat development, the light-sensitive material together with a dye-fixing layer in the presence of a hydrophilic thermal solvent to thereby transfer the mobile hydrophilic dye onto the dye-fixing layer to form a dye image and fix the dye image. The heat development is carried out in a state containing substantially no water, and the whole of steps are carried out without particular supplying a solvent.
