Via the present remote control device, a remote computing device can operate a plurality of computing devices and further administrate the whole system constituted by the plurality of computing devices and a KVM switch via a network. The remote control device and the method used therein firstly generates a menu in response to a request from the remote computing device, and the menu has at least one option for a remote control action. The menu is then transmitted to the remote computing device via the network. Once a cursor position representing a chosen option is received from the remote computing device via the network, the cursor position corresponds to the option. The remote control action is carried out according to the cursor position.

摘要： A KVM operation console includes a lower body and an upper body. The lower body and the upper body are assembled into and can be separately slid from an industrial console. A lock mechanism is installed in a bottom cover of the upper body. An L-shaped arm and is pivotally connected with the bottom cover. A lock shaft and a handle are respectively pivotally connected with two ends of the L-shaped arm. The handle is moved to retract the lock shaft from or extend the lock shaft into an opening of the bottom cover by a torque of the L-shaped arm. The extended lock shaft is inserted into a hole of the industrial console so as to secure the upper body. The upper body blocks a holder of the lower body to prevent the lower body from sliding out of the industrial console.

The present KVM switch includes a computer interface, a console interface, a network interface circuit, a processor and a memory. The computer interface is capable of connection to at least one computing device having a baseboard management controller (BMC). The console interface is capable of connection to at least one console device. The network interface circuit is capable of connection to the BMC via a network. The processor routes a communication path between the computing device and the console device. The memory stores an IPMI firmware. The processor manages the computing device through the BMC by executing the IPMI firmware, and generates an IPMI menu.
