    • An electromagnetic switch is provided which includes: a coil generating magnetomotive force; a frame accommodating the coil and generating a flux path; a resin cover covering an opening of the frame; and a current-supply terminal member energizing the coil. The current-supply terminal member includes: a blade-shaped terminal whose end is connected to the coil and whose another end is drawn out of the resin cover in the axial direction of the electromagnetic switch; and a plate-shaped external connection terminal whose end is joined to an end of the blade-shaped terminal and whose another end is drawn out in the direction intersecting the axial direction. A portion between the ends of the external connection terminal is insert-molded in a terminal anchor block provided with the resin cover. A female terminal of a power supply connector provided at an electric supply line is fitted and electrically connected to the external connection terminal.

    • A device for coupling an asynchronous motor with an electrical power supply cable includes a socket (100) designed to be connected to the asynchronous motor so that each of the six wires (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22) of the asynchronous motor corresponds to a contact (103) of the three-phase socket, a plug (100) designed to be connected to the electrical power supply cable so that each of the three wires of the electrical power supply cable corresponds to one contact of the plug, and at least one shunt (110) including at least two connection strips (111, 112) each designed to couple two contacts of the three-phase socket. An asynchronous motor provided with a connection device such as this and a method for coupling an asynchronous motor are also described.

    • Mechanisms are provided to control the operation of a motor. In particular, a variable frequency drive motor controller is described which resides within a motor housing. Additionally, the speed at which the motor operates is based on a signal received from a Hall Effect switch or from a communication device in communication with a remote interface. The Hall Effect switch is also described; in particular, the Hall Effect switch features a magnet rotatably connected with one side of a motor housing. A Hall Effect sensor, located on the opposite side of the motor housing, detects the position of the magnet and outputs a signal to the motor controller, located within the motor housing, indicating the detected magnet position. Additional operating features are described relating to the safe operation and control of the motor in potentially hazardous environments.
