    • A phase-locked loop (PPL) utilizing a RAM is disclosed. The RAM is provided to store a reference clock and a clock to be controlled. The PLL further comprises a voltage-controlled oscillator section controls a phase of the clock to be controlled. The PLL further comprises a controller for retrieving, from the RAM, data of said reference clock and said clock to be controlled. The controller determines a phase difference between said reference clock and said clock to be controlled. Additionally, the controller generating a control signal so as to reduce said phase difference and applying said control signal to said voltage-controlled oscillator section.

    • In a mobile telecommunication system, a test terminal is disposed in each of radio service zones of a plurality of radio base stations connected to a mobile switching station, and a testing device is connected to the mobile switching station and calling the test terminal to send out a first test pattern through a down link. The test terminal receives the first test pattern and compares the received first test pattern with a second test pattern equal to the first test pattern to send back the compared result as test data through an up link. The test terminal sends out the second test pattern to the testing device through an up link. The testing device defines the radio channel condition of the down link from the test data and the up link from comparison of the first test pattern with the received second test pattern, and sends out an instruction to the test terminal. The test terminal announces comments and displays images for indicating the radio channel condition in the radio service zone.

    • The present invention provides a thermocompression tool, i.e. high strength bonding tool used for mounting a semiconductor device or element such as IC, LSI, etc. on a substrate, for example, a tool of pulse heating type used for soldering, and a mounting tool (bonding tool) used for heating, melting and bonding or thermocompression bonding in a lump a number of workpieces to be bonded, making up a part of electronic parts, in particular, a high precision tool called outer lead bonding tool. The high strength bonding tool comprises a substrate consisting of a cemented carbide having microscopic protrusions of hard carbides and/or hard carbonitrides on at least one surface and a coefficient of linear expansion of 4.0.times.10.sup.-6 to 5.5.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree. C. at room temperature to 400.degree. C. and a polycrystalline diamond coating formed on the above described surface having microscopic protrusions by a gaseous phase synthesis method, the surface coated with the polycrystalline diamond coating being used as a tool end surface.

    • A photoelectric conversion device comprises a control circuit for applying a control signal to a control electrode of a photoelectric transducer, an operating point detection circuit for receiving an output signal from the photoelectric transducer and inverting an output state thereof depending on a level of the output signal, and a sample/hold circuit controlled by an output of the operating point detection circuit to hold a signal level corresponding to the control signal as developed when the output state of the operating point detection circuit is inverted, the signal held by the sample/hold circuit being read as a photoelectrically converted output. Photoelectric conversion characteristics thereby exhibits good linearity.
