摘要： Disclosed herein are novel multivalent metal-modified salicyclic acid resins useful as color-developing agents for pressure-sensitive copying paper. They can each be produced by causing a salicyclic acid ester and a styrene derivative to undergo a Friedel-Crafts reaction in the presence of a strong acid catalyst, hydrolyzing the resulting salicylic acid ester resin, and then reacting the thus-obtained salicyclic acid resin with a multivalent metal salt.

摘要： A process for preparing a polyimide by reaction of a diamine and a tetracarboxylic dianhydride to obtain a polyamide acid and subjecting the polyamide acid to conversion into a polyimide thermally or chemically. The reaction in the process is carried out in the presence of at least one dicarboxylic anhydride selected from the group consisting of aliphatic dicarboxylic anhydrides and aromatic dicarboxylic anhydrides, and the amount of the tetracarboxylic dianhydride is in the range of from 0.9 to 1.0 mole per mole of the diamine and the amount of the dicarboxylic anhydride is in the range of from 0.001 to 1.0 mole per mole of the diamine. The resultant polyimides exhibit good thermal stability at high temperatures and good forming processability even at low temperatures.

摘要： Disclosed are thermoplastic aromatic polyetherpyridines composed of repeating structural units each containing one or more pyridine rings. These polymers are prepared by reacting a 2,6-dihalogenopyridine with one or two dihydroxy compounds or by reacting a bis(6-chloro-2-pyridyloxy) compound with a dihydroxy compound. The polymers thus obtained have an excellent combination of heat resistance, moldability and other properties, and hence are useful in a wide variety of applications.

摘要： This invention relates to an improved process for preparing .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester. More specifically, it relates to a process for preparing .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester which comprises treating, as a raw material, N-formyl-.alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine in methanol in the presence of an acid to form .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine dimethyl ester, hydrolyzing the .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine dimethyl ester by bringing it into contact with hydrochloric acid in the presence of methanol as desired, separating the thereby-precipitated .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester hydrochloride and neutralizing the hydrochloride. Further, this invention also provides a process for preparing .alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester capable of using, as a raw material, N-formyl-.alpha.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine which contains N-formyl-.beta.-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine in an amount of 30% by weight or less.

摘要： .beta.-Chloroalanine is prepared by reacting in an aqueous medium an aziridine-2-carboxylate with hydrogen chloride in an amount of 2.0-5.0 moles per mole of the aziridine-2-carboxyalte and causing the thus-formed .beta.-chloroalanine to selectively crystallize out from the liquid reaction mixture. Since the solution recovered after the isolation of the crystallized .beta.-chloroalanine still contains .beta.-chloroalanine and by-produced .alpha.-chloro-.beta.-alanine dissolved therein, they may be converted into an aziridine-2-carboxylate by treating them with a base to recirculate it for reuse.
