摘要： A punching tool for forming an attachment in a side-lapped seam of steel decking includes four cutting jaws each having a cutting edge. Two jaws are positioned against one side of the seam, and two jaws are positioned on the opposite side of the seam. An actuator selectively pivots the cutting edges of opposing jaws generally toward each other to a closed position, driving the cutting edges of a first pair of jaws partially past each other for cutting a first slot through the seam, and driving the cutting edges of a second pair of jaws partially past each other for cutting a second slot through the seam. Also disclosed are a method for forming such an attachment, as well as the attachment structure which results therefrom.

摘要： A cap tip detaching apparatus for a resistance welding machine that detaches a cap tip fitted to a shank of the resistance welding machine. The apparatus includes a pawl portion including a fixed pawl and a movable pawl. The fixed pawl extends in a direction orthogonal to the shank axis so as to be brought into close contact with a lower end portion of the shank. The movable pawl, forming a pair with the fixed pawl, is provided in a leading end of a leverage type lever and is brought into close contact with an upper end portion of the cap tip. A drive portion is included for moving the pawl portion to a portion between the shank and the cap tip. A rotating mechanism, working with the drive portion, rotates the lever to disconnect the cap tip from the shank by pushing down the movable pawl.

The tool includes a base plate; first and second handles; first and second crimping arms, and a cam operatively engaged with the first handle. A slide is operatively engaged with the cam. The first and second handles and the first and second crimping arms are pivotally interconnected and attached to the base plate so that when the first and second handles are pivoted towards one another from an open position, the cam advances the slide, which advances the staple so that the crimping arms may crimp the staple to the fence post. A method for attaching the staple to a fence post is also described and claimed. An inventive staple is also disclosed.

摘要： A tool is provided for removing a component from a fuel rail in an automotive fuel system. The tool has a pair of jaws connected to a pair of pivoting handles, which allow the jaws to be opened and closed. The jaws have an inner cavity shaped to conform to an outer surface of the component. A pair of release members are slidably mounted on an outer surface of the jaws. When the release members are moved relative to the jaws, rims on the release members contact a retention clip holding the component to the fuel rail. Contact between the rims and the clip causes the clip to disengage from a retention surface on the fuel rail, freeing the component.

摘要： The punch press tool efficiently punches out a sheared sickle blade section bolt or a bolt from which the retaining nut has been removed in an implement using a reciprocating sickle bar. The punch press tool includes an elongated handle having a pair of rigidly connected parallel links pivotally connected to one end thereof to straddle a sickle bar. A removable transverse pin is engaged with end portions of the links in spaced relation to the end of the handle and oriented below the sickle bar when the handle and attached ends of the links are positioned above the sickle bar. The handle includes a radially extending heat treated projecting pointed pin spaced from the pivot axis of the handle to downwardly engage the end of a broken bolt in a sickle bar to force the bolt downwardly out of the sickle bar when the handle is pivoted toward the sickle bar. The handle also includes a protruding surface area on an edge thereof to engage the round head of a new shouldered bolt and upwardly forcing it into the sickle bar opening with the round head of the bolt engaging flush with the bottom of the sickle bar.

A passage may be provided in one or both of upper and lower jaws. A sealing device may be provided in the upper jaw, the sealing device being disposed adjacent to the passage. Lower jaw may likewise include a passage therein. In use, an elongated object such as a tube may be inserted into the passage in the lower jaw and then into the passage in the upper jaw adjacent the sealing device. When the lower jaw is engaged with the upper jaw, the lower jaw compresses the sealing device and sealingly engages the sealing device, the passage, and the tube disposed therein. In that manner, a seal is achieved. In the case where an opening having a coupling is fluidly connected to the upper jaw, a sealed, fluid connection may be established between the coupling on the upper jaw and the tube engaged by the seal.

The tips define a pair of outwardly facing indentations that adapt the tips to engaging the locking ring in order to spread the locking ring by operation of the person squeezing the handles toward each other.
