摘要： A polymer polyol is produced by a process comprising free radical polymerizing an addition polymerizable di-(substituted phenyl)monomer (e.g., methacrylic ester of diglycidylether of tetrabromobisphenol A) component in the presence of a polyol, wherein the monomer has at least one aromatic halogen and at least one aromatic ethylenically unsaturated substituent. The polymer polyol can also be made by copolymerizing said monomer with an additional ethylenically unsaturated monomer component such as styrene and acrylonitrile. Said polymer polyols are reacted with a polyisocyanate compound forming a flame retardant polyurethane foam.

摘要： The polymeric compound of this invention is represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A represents a hydrogen atom or ##STR2## B represents a hydrogen atom or ##STR3## each of X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 represents independently a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, each of m and n represents independently an integer of 0 to 14, each of p and q represents independently 0 or 1, and each of Y1 , Y.sub.2, Y.sub.3, and Y.sub.4 represents independently a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom, with the proviso that both A and B are not hydrogen atoms, p is 0 when m is 0, and q is 0 when n is 0. The liquid crystal display element of this invention includes a pair of substrates oppositely disposed with a gap therebetween, and a liquid crystal layer placed in said gap, at least one of said substrates being transparent, and said liquid crystal layer having a liquid crystal region, and a polymer wall surrounded by said liquid crystal region, wherein said liquid crystal layer includes a liquid crystal material, a polymeric polymer material, and the above-described polymeric compound. The liquid crystal display element prepared from the polymeric compound of this invention does not cause disclination lines, and has bright characteristics in the absence of an electric voltage.

The monomers and polymers are reversible photochromic systems which can be used as colour indicators, as photochemically modifiable colour filters, or for the optical storage of information.

摘要： Novel unsaturated polylactone acrylates are produced by the reaction of an unsaturated polylactone, such as that produced in the reaction of a lactone with tetrahydrobenzyl alcohol, and a lower-alkyl acrylate under transesterification conditions. The unsaturated polylactone acrylate product may be subsequently epoxidized to form novel 3,4-epoxy polylactone acrylates.

摘要： Epoxy acrylate resins of this invention having a structure of the general formula (I) ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group, R' is hydrogen or methyl group, and n is an integer from 0 to 20 are heat-resistant, solvent-soluble, and photosensitive and photosensitive resin compositions containing said epoxy acrylate resins as main component exhibit high photosensitivity in addition to strong adhesion to substrates, good resistance to heat and chemicals, and good mechanical and electrical properties and are useful as materials for forming insulation films for multilayer devices and protective films for image sensors and as protective films for solder resists, plating resists, and color filters.
