    • A switching power converter having a first and a second transistor are connected in series with the transformer to provide higher switching efficiency. A charge pump circuit is coupled to a drive circuit to provide a power source for driving the first transistor. A third transistor is connected between the transformer and the ground to help the switching of the transformer and the charge of the charge pump circuit. A switching control circuit is coupled to the output of the switching power converter to generate a first switching signal and a second switching signal for regulating the switching power converter. The first switching signal is coupled to drive the first transistor and the second transistor. The second switching signal is coupled to drive the third transistor.

    • The present invention provides a low-cost resonant inverter circuit for ballast. The resonant circuit includes a transformer connected in series with a lamp to operate the lamp. A first transistor and a second transistor are coupled to switch the resonant inverter circuit. A second winding and a third winding of the transformer are used for generating control signals in response to a switching current of the resonant inverter circuit. The transistor is turned on once the control signal is higher than a high-threshold. Next, the transistor is turned off once the control signal is lower than a low-threshold. Therefore, soft switching operation for the first transistor and the second transistor is achieved.

    • A high-side transistor driver including a driver circuit for generating a driving signal to drive a high-side transistor is provided. A floating supply terminal provides a supply voltage to the driver circuit. A floating ground terminal is connected to a source of the high-side transistor. A bootstrap diode is coupled between the floating supply terminal and a voltage source. A capacitor is connected to the bootstrap diode and is coupled between the floating supply terminal and the floating ground terminal. A high-voltage transistor is used for switching off the driving signal and the high-side transistor in response to an input signal. A speed-up capacitor is coupled to the driver circuit for speeding up the driving signal. Furthermore, the positive feedback circuits in the driver circuit further accelerate the driving signal and save power for the driver circuit.

    • A compensation circuit and a compensation method for providing compensation of a power converter are proposed. A current sense circuit is coupled to receive a switching current for generating a current signal. A signal generation circuit is developed to generate a first compensation signal and a second compensation signal for adjusting the current signal. The first compensation signal is coupled to adjust the current signal for the output power limit of the power converter. The second compensation signal is coupled to adjust the current signal for the slope compensation. The slope of the first compensation signal is decreased when the power transistor is turned on. The slope of the second compensation signal is increased in response to the turn on of the power transistor.
