摘要： A silver halide photographic material comprises a transparent support, at least one silver halide emulsion layer, and a magnetic recording film. The support and magnetic recording film are prepared by coextrusion of a polyester material containing no ferromagnetic powder and a polyester material containing a ferromagnetic powder. At least one polyester material preferably has a hydrophilic group in its structure or contains a hygroscopic material. Further, the above silver halide photographic material enclosed with a cylindrical cartridge and a magnetic recording sheet consisting of a polyester material and a polyester material with a hydrophilic group in its structure containing a ferromagnetic powder, are disclosed.

摘要： A virtually transparent magnetic layer is included as an additional layer in a color negative film. Information exchange between various users of the film--such as (for example) the film manufacturer, the camera user, the dealer and photofinisher--is carried vai plural longitudinal magnetic tracks on the film that being and end within each individual frame. Each track is dedicated to the writing and reading of a predetermined set of parameters relating to the corresponding frame. The photofinisher-dedicated tracks fill the image-bearing area of each frame. The film has only a single film perforation along one edge for each frame. The camera-dedicated tracks lie along the edges of the film between the film perforations. Each track begins and ends within a single frame, and is divided into a plurality of fields. The spatial relationship between the start location of the tracks associated with each film frame and the corresponding perforation determines the spatial relationship between the magnetic heads and the perforation sensor in the photofinishing apparatus.

摘要： A process is described for the manufacture of a dimensionally stable polyester film support carrying a primer coating for improving the adhesion thereto of subsequently applied coatings, which process comprises applying to an unstretched or only monoaxially stretched polyester film support a layer of a coating composition from an aqueous dispersion, drying said layer, stretching it biaxially or in a direction perpendicular to the said first stretching operation together with the polyester film support and heat-setting the polyester film, wherein said coating composition, before drying and heat-setting, comprises a mixture of:(A) 52 to 79% by weight of a copolymeric binder comprising 60 to 95% by weight of methyl methacrylate, 3 to 20% by weight of a divinyl or diallyl monomer, 0 to 30% by weight of a plasticizing vinyl monomer, and 0 to 5% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid,(B) 0.5 to 3% by weight of a water-insoluble wax-like material and/or of a water-insoluble polymer characterized by the presence of repeating units corresponding to the formula : ##STR1## wherein each of X, X.sup.1, X.sup.2, and X.sup.3 represents hydrogen or fluorine, or each of X, X.sup.1, and X.sup.2 represents hydrogen and X.sup.3 represents a methyl group, or X represents chlorine and each of X.sup.1, X.sup.2, and X.sup.3 represents fluorine,(C) 20 to 40% by weight of an external plasticizer, said external plasticizer being wholly or almost entirely eliminated from the coating composition during the heat-setting, and(D) 0 to 5% by weight of a hydrophilic polymer.

摘要： A method and apparatus for coating thixotropic high viscosity liquid coating compositions on a moving web at a narrow coating in such a manner as to provide a flat coating surface. The apparatus is provided with at least two liquid discharge ports arranged side by side opposite to the moving web so that the liquids are discharged through the ports and the edge of the coating liquid streams meet on the web. The apparatus is further provided with an extrusion type hopper having two slide members of which the tip ends are in the form of a knife edge, the slide members being arranged so that the knife edges are directed inwardly toward each other, at least one partition plate interposed between the slide members so as to equally divide the distance between the internal surfaces of the slide members. The method of this invention is well suited for use in applying a magnetic recording stripe to a motion picture film.
