    • Machine-readable symbol reader systems including one or more shields are provided. One example machine-readable symbol reader system includes a conveyor system to convey objects bearing one or more machine-readable symbols past a first region that is transmissive to light. The system includes a machine-readable symbol reader having a housing, a window formed in the housing, and at least one optical sensor received in the housing and having a field of view that extends outward of the window, at least the window of the machine-readable symbol reader positioned relatively below the conveyor system with the field of view aligned with the first region of the conveyor system. The system can further include a shield having a frame with a plurality of apertures that are transmissive to light, the shield positioned relatively below the first region and positioned relatively above the window of the machine-readable symbol reader.

    • A sign and display system including a faceplate, lens, backing plate, and at least one magnet is described. The faceplate includes a viewing aperture and the back of the faceplate includes a recess in which the at least one magnet is mounted. The recess in the faceplate is configured to receive the lens and backing plate. The lens may include one or more edge protrusions configured to enter one or more small recesses in the side of the faceplate recess to secure the lens to the faceplate. When the lens and backing plate are positioned in the recess of the faceplate, the one or more magnets exert a force on the backing plate to secure the faceplate and lens to the backing plate. An insert capable of displaying text and/or graphics can also be positioned between the lens and backing plate in the recess of the faceplate.

    • The present invention is a magnified screen cover and protector for electronic devices. The invention comprises a magnified surface layer with a top protective layer and a bottom adhesive layer. The invention magnifies the screen of an electronic device with diopter and/or magnification power ranges so that the user may comfortably use the electronic device without the aid of wearing prescription eyewear, contact lenses, reading glasses or other visual aids. The touch screen sensitivity and functionality of the electronic device is unaffected by the magnified screen cover protector, so usability of the electronic devices touch and sensitivity functions are not compromised. The present inventions additional benefit is protecting the glass and/or plastic surface of an electronic devices main viewing screen from scarrings shattering, debris and breakage. Other embodiments of the magnified screen cover protector would include a three dimensional (3D) magnification layer for viewing text images, and video in a three dimensional (3D) visual simulation on an electronic devices screen.
