摘要： The disclosure relates to a trash container and compactor for trash collecting vehicles; the container being removeably carried on a vehicle chassis and the container having a generally box like configuration and being provided with a moveable trash compacting side pivotally connected with the container; the vehicle chassis having a compactor arm adapted to cooperate with the pivotally moveable side of the trash container such that the actuator alternately opens and closes said moveable side of said container for compacting trash therein; the side of the container being pivoted at its lower portion and the upper portion of the container being moveable generally away therefrom to alternately provide a trash receiving opening in the upper portion of the container. The pivotal axis on the moveable side of the container is in alignment with the pivotal axis of the compactor, which actuates the moveable side of the container, and the container is readily removeable from the chassis for temporarily holding the container on the chassis with the axes of the moveable side of the container and the compactor in alignment with each other. The disclosure also relates to a novel crusher pivotally mounted on the normally upper edge of the aforementioned pivoted side of the trash container to force trash downwardly which is loaded into said container; the disclosure also relating to novel bustle and bustle actuating means for the trash container of the invention.

摘要： The vehicle has a self-propelled main frame with a box pivotally mounted at its rear end on the frame for upward movement of its front end to a box dumping position. The box has a forward charging opening. A packer means is swingable through the charging opening and rearwardly of the box toward a rear discharge opening that is normally closed by a cover means. The cover means has depending side wings which coact with an adjustable chute means, mounted rearwardly of the discharge opening, to confine and direct refuse into a dumping area or hopper. The packer means is operated through a hydraulically actuated linkage system which provides for the application of a high uniform pressure on the packer means throughout its rearward travel within the box.
