    • A pair of continuous slide fastener stringers having a pair of stringers tapes including thermoplastic synthetic fibers and a pair of integrated rows of fastener elements mounted on the confronting edges of the stringer tapes are provided with an element-free gap therein and are cut off transversely of the element-free gap to produce an individual slide fastener length with ultrasonic processing means. Simultaneously, the cut edges and ends are fused, and top and bottom end stops are mounted respectively on the fastener slide stringers and the slide fastener length with heat induced by the ultrasonic processing means. The interengaged element rows while advancing are introduced into a slider through its mouth which is supported on a slider holder, with portions of the top end stop being forcibly flexed away from each other by the body of the slider, thereby allowing the top end stop to move past the slider.

    • A pair of slide fastener stringers of continuous or substantially endless length comprising a pair of opposed stringer tapes and a pair of rows of coupling fastener elements carried along the respective confronting inner longitudinal edges of the stringer tapes. Each row of fastener elements has a plurality of sections devoid of fastener elements or at least of the coupling head portions thereof, said sections being spaced at substantially equal intervals defining the ultimate length of an individual fastener product. The tapes are made of thermoplastic synthetic fibers or their blended yarns and have a plurality of openings disposed adjacent to the element-free or coupling-head-free sections and extending across the element rows that have been coupled together.     • A slider rest is formed on the top of a hollow, generally upright support structure or frame for holding a slider thereon in upside-down disposition with its pull tab telescopically received in a slit extending downwardly from the slider rest. Accommodated within the support structure is a pivotable locking lever having an offset detent at its top end which is movable into and out of engagement with an aperture in the slider pull tab received in the slit. Normally, the locking lever is held in its inoperative position by a retractable stop extending across the slit. Upon insertion of the slider pull tab into the slit, the retractable stop is thereby pivoted downwardly to permit the locking lever to be spring-actuated to its operative position where the detent engages the pull tab aperture and thus locks the slider on the slider rest.

    • A slider holder including a support structure having a slider mount on a top portion thereof. The slider mount has a top surface inclined to the plane of the horizon for receiving and positioning a slider upside down with the bottom end of the slider directed downwardly and with the guide channels of the slider inclined to the plane of the horizon. A lever having a detent is turnably supported to engage and disengage an opening of the slider pull tab and releasably lock the slider in the slider mount. In use, a pair of stringers mounted on an article and having elastically deformable fastener elements are successively pulled through the slider guide channels in a downward direction and positioned so that the fastener elements are aligned. The stringers are then simultaneously pulled upwardly through the guide channels to engage the fastener elements, and the slider is then released from the holder.

    • A recessed slider mount is formed on the top of a support structure for holding a slider placed upside down with its pull tab received in a channel extending downwardly therefrom. A lever turnably supported between a pair of brackets formed on one side of the support structure includes a detent formed on its upper end to engage the opening of the pull tab and hence to lock the slider in position on the slider mount. Any accidental unlocking of the slider is prevented as by means including a second lever turnably supported adjacent the lower end of the first recited lever and urged by a spring to have one end thereof normally held opposite to an abutment formed on the support structure. Hence, unless the second lever is turned to move the said one end thereof away from its position opposite to the abutment, the first lever cannot be turned to unlock the slider.
