摘要： A Web-based call routing management workstation application which allows authorized customers to control toll free routing and monitor call center status. An architecture including one or more web servers located in a firewalled demilitarized zone (DMZ) as communications medium between the customer workstations at the customer sites and the enterprise back-end applications providing the call routing management services, provides a secure infrastructure for accessing the enterprise applications via the otherwise insecure public Internet. The present invention enables creation and management of call by call routing rules by a customer with a workstation having an Internet access and a supported Web browser. The customized rules may be tested and/or debugged via the Web-enabled workstation, using a debugger/tester which runs the routing rules under a simulated environment. In addition, customers may provision hierarchies for their business; create, modify or delete agent pools; manipulate capacity tables; and define quota schemes, value lists and schedule tables, all at the customer site via the Web-enabled workstation. The present invention also enables the customers to view near real-time displays of call center ACD statistics and peg counts based on routing rules, as well as, run provisioning and statistical reports on provisioning and statistical data and also to extract the data for further analysis. Additionally, the present invention supports foreign language and branding features on a graphical user interface. An infrastructure is provided which enables secure initiation, acquisition, and presentation of the call manager functionalities to customers from any computer workstation having a web browser and located anywhere in the world.

摘要： Accordingly to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for providing caller initiated third party billing in a telecommunication system is disclosed. First, a predetermined number is dialed by the subscriber to access the third party billing feature. The subscriber is then prompted to enter proper identification and the telecommunication system authenticates the subscriber identification. Once the subscriber's identification has been authenticated, the system retrieves the subscriber's account information. The system then determines the phone number of the selected telephone the subscriber wants to make calls from. The system then sends the subscriber's account information and the phone number the subscriber wants to make the calls from to a billing server. The billing server then sends the subscriber's account information to a local exchange carrier responsible for the selected telephone. The calls made from the selected telephone are then billed to the subscriber's account.

An originating party initiates a billing directed communication transmitting a unitary request in a predefined format. The billing directed communication service may be applied to a particular telephone line 14a or cellular mobile radiotelephone (CMR) 16e so that any originating party knowing the appropriate unitary request format may use the service. Such a billing directed communication service may be accessed only by originating a communication using a telephone line 14a or CMR 16e to which the service has been applied. Alternatively, the billing directed communication service may be applied to a particular billing code such as a billing code associated with a particular terminating station. In this case, a billing directed communication service may be accessed from any originating station 16. The billing directed communication service may also be applied to a particular mobile telephone switching office (MTSO) 50 operated by a cellular mobile communication service provider. In this case, the accounting and billing resources of a land-based telecommunications system 11 provide accounting and billing services for a cellular mobile communication service provider.

摘要： A interactive value-added telecommunications system including automatic billing at a value-added rate controllable in real time is realized through in-place network carrier system utilities including multiparty switching which verify a calling party by a telephone number, and optionally a PIN number, and provides for calling party authorization of billing at a rate established by the called party. The system enables a method for conducting a business wherein a party calls for a service or product, is identified via one or two separate code sequences, requests a service or product from the called provider who establishes a rate for compliance. The caller authorizes and initiates the established charge to an account associated with one of said code sequences which preferably is a telephone number associated with a credit or debit account by completing a third-party call to a designated value-added number. Confirmation of the authorization and acceptance of the charge is monitored by the provider who proceeds to provide the service or product requested at the established rate which may be changed at any time during the telephone call by the provider followed by appropriate caller authorization.
