    • A portable truck dump comprises a conveyor system mounted on an elongate frame to transport material from a first end of the frame to a second, opposite end of the frame. A grate is positioned over the conveyor system and is supported by first and second sides of the frame. A ramp extends generally perpendicular to the frame on each side of the frame next to the grate to provide a drive-over access for a material transport vehicle to deposit its load over the grate and onto the conveyor system. A first end of each ramp immediately adjacent to the frame is pivotally connected to the frame to allow the frame to be articulated towards the grate. A second end of each ramp spaced from the frame is supported above but in close proximity to the ground. A support frame is associated with each ramp to provide a barrier along the ground adjacent to and at a level of the second end of each ramp. The barrier supports an earthen ramp which enables the material transport vehicles to drive onto and over the ramp to deposit material over the grate. The support frame maintains the integrity of the earthen ramp when the ramps are articulated towards the grate. The support frame may also provide a support surface adjacent to the ground for supporting the second end of each ramp.

    • A method for loading a dumper with broken rock or the like and an apparatus for implementing the method. In the method, a loading area is defined for the dumper. The dumper is stopped at the loading area at a predefined position for loading. An emptying area is correspondingly defined in advance for a loader for transporting the material in its bucket onto the dumper box. The apparatus includes a controller for controlling the dumper at least during loading, and the controller includes means for stopping the dumper for loading at the predefined position so that the material transported by the loader can be emptied onto the dumper box in a predefined location in the longitudinal direction.

    • The invention consists of a device called a feed, or wash box for use where it is necessary to feed a relatively large volume of slurry or liquor on to a moving surface uniformly and without excessive local velocity or turbulence, the device being characterized by the fact that it takes advantage of the moving slurry or liquor to receive it on an inclined plane, causing it to develop some velocity as it passes down the plane and spreads out, and at the end of the incline, causes it suddenly to change direction of flow by about 90.degree. and again by impact on another guide surface to change direction of flow by about 180.degree., to be fed on to a final surface, which may be a filter belt or other receiving surface.
