    • The present invention provides an acoustic display device for displaying modal patterns in response to sound from a sound source. The display device 10 has a substantially circular housing 12, which housing 12 includes a continuous curved side wall 13a, a substantially flat base wall 13b, and open end 13c. The open end 13c is closed by diaphragm 14, thereby forming closed chamber 15. Excitation of the diaphragm can be effected by introducing vocal sounds to the underside of the diaphragm via one of a plurality of sound connecting means 22 that include a flexible tubular section 30, which terminates in a mouthpiece 32. A user can place the mouthpiece over their mouth and nose and make vocal sounds, which are delivered to the interior of the chamber 15. The mouthpiece 32 can be substituted with a sound collector 60 having a “horn” shape and an annular flange for engagement with a loudspeaker. The other ends 24 of the sound connecting means 22, within the closed chamber 15, each contain a non-return valve so that pressure within the chamber is maintained. The device can also include weight locating means 21a, 21b, 21c or magnetic tensioning means 80, 84 for tuning the diaphragm. Removable covers having different markings can assist in analysing the patterns produced. Two or more integral curved spirit levels 38 in conjunction with adjustable feet 40 enable accurate levelling of the diaphragm.

    • An electro-acoustic device for creating patterns of particulate matter comprises a housing (2) one end of which is closed and the other end of which is open, a diaphragm (10) extending across the housing (2) at or adjacent the open end of the housing to define and close a hollow interior to the housing, a mass of particulate matter (34) located on the diaphragm (10), and, within the hollow interior of the housing (2), an electro-acoustic transducer (26), the arrangement being such that, in use with the diaphragm (10) extending horizontally and on activation of the transducer (26) by an audio signal, the acoustic output therefrom excites the diaphragm (10) and creates a pattern in the particulate matter (34) thereon representative of the audio signal.

    • A diagnostic urethral assembly is provided. The assembly includes an elongate body having a fluid passageway and an elongate support member selectively positionable within the fluid passageway of the elongate body. The elongate body has a radially responsive wall segment, the elongate body being positionable within a lower urinary tract such that the radially responsive wall segment is adjacent a prostatic urethra. The elongate body is adapted to be in fluid communication with a bladder. The assembly has a first operably selective condition wherein the elongate support member is translatable relative to the elongate body so as to permit sequential and incremental radial compression of the radially responsive wall segment by the prostatic urethra in furtherance of defining architecture associated with the prostatic urethra. The assembly further has a second operably selective condition wherein fluid distally introduced into the elongate body radially expands the radially responsive wall segment into conforming engagement with the prostatic urethra in furtherance of obtaining a mold of same.

    • Embodiments of the present invention relate to a data processing system and method for use in creating an audiovisual product. The method, for example, comprises the steps of: defining a plurality of components, the components implicitly representing functional sections of audiovisual content with respect to one or more raw content objects, and a plurality of transitions that represent movements between the plurality of components; expanding the plurality of components and the plurality of transitions to provide a set of explicitly realised AV assets and an expanded intermediate data structure of nodes and links, where each node is associated with an AV asset of the set and the links represent movement from one node to another; and creating an audiovisual product in a predetermined output format, using the AV assets and the expanded intermediate data structure of the nodes and the links, wherein the audiovisual product is operable to facilitate random number generation.
