    • A rear holder for a waterproof connector which causes no short shots is provided. The metal mold for forming this rear holder is easy to produce. The rear holder includes a resin material member and a rubber material member. The resin material member is provided with a plate-like holding member substantially in parallel with the terminal insertion side end face thereof. Holder terminal insertion holes and holder connecting holes penetrate through the plate-like holding member. The rubber material member is made up of a front portion, a rear portion, and a connecting portion. The front portion and the rear portion are separated from each other by the plate-like holding member of the resin material member, and are connected by the connecting portion that penetrates through the holder connecting holes of the resin material member. A front rubber member terminal insertion hole and a rear rubber member terminal insertion hole penetrate through the front portion and the rear portion, respectively, and communicate with the holder terminal insertion holes of the resin material member.

    • A waterproof connector in which, even if tension caused by the bending of an electrical wire is applied to a sealing portion, the waterproofness of the sealing portion is improved without making the dimension and weight of a connector housing larger and heavier. The waterproof connector (A) according to the present invention comprises: a housing (B), a plurality of terminal accommodating cavities (1) in the housing (B), a waterproof plug (5) with a plurality of sealing through holes (7) at positions corresponding to those of the plurality of terminal accommodating cavities (1), a plug cover (6) integrally formed with the waterproof plug (5) to form a sealing portion (C) in combination with the waterproof plug (5). The plug cover (6) is arranged to be mounted to the housing (B), and has a plurality of through holes (8) at positions corresponding to those of the plurality of sealing through holes (7) of the waterproof plug (5). The waterproof connector (A) according to the present invention also comprises an electrical wire-sustaining portion (10) with resilience on an inner peripheral surface of each of the through holes (8) of the plug cover (5). Each wire-sustaining portion (10) may also include water extraction holes (12) and peripheral projections (11) which project in each of the through holes (8) of the plug cover (6) on their inner peripheral surface. Latches (15, 14) for holding the sealing portion (C) in a preliminary state may be used.
