The method of transmitting messages for acquisition of information related to a network entity or a link network during network selection in a mobile terminal comprises generating, in an upper management entity, a first primitive for requesting information related to the network entity or the link network through an access point (AP), delivering the first primitive to a media access control (MAC) layer, transmitting a first request message including contents of the first primitive to the access point to request the information, receiving a second response message from the access point, the second response message including information related to the specific network entity or the link network, and delivering a third primitive from the MAC layer to the upper management entity, the third primitive including contents of the second response message.

摘要： Provided are a method and an apparatus for monitoring a paging message in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. An M2M device receives a paging setup for initiating an idle mode from a base station. The paging setup includes information indicating a paging cycle, a first paging offset, and a second paging offset. In the idle mode, the M2M device monitors the transmission of a paging message at the first paging offset of the paging cycle. If the paging message is not received at the first paging offset, the M2M device monitors the transmission of the paging message at the second paging offset of the paging cycle.

The terminal can also obtain scheduling information based on the received indicator, wherein the scheduling information is configured by the type of the extended non-user-specific A-MAP IE. Then, the terminal is capable of decoding the broadcast message in a certain sub-frame based on the obtained scheduling information.

A M2M device receives a paging message indicating a resource allocation for a ranging request. The assignment information includes an identifier type indicating that the M2M identifier is a fixed M2M deregistration identifier (FMDID) or a deregistration identifier (DID).
