    • A digital camera of the present invention enables a lens unit to be attachable/detachable with respect thereto. The digital camera of the present invention includes a plurality of display portions, a control portion that causes the plurality of display portions to selectively display the image data generated by the image pickup element or image data obtained by subjecting the image data generated by the image pickup element to predetermined processing as a moving image in real time, and a setting portion capable of switching displays of images with respect to the plurality of display portions. After the control portion causes the lens unit to perform an autofocus operation in accordance with setting of the displays of the images with respect to the plurality of display portions by the setting portion, the control portion switches the displays of the images with respect to the plurality of display portions.

    • To reduce a processing load of an external CPU, when a large amount of data is initially set frequently to an image coding/decoding device. The image encoding/decoding device (data processing device) includes a first circuit and a second circuit for providing initial setting to a plurality of image processing modules (processor units), wherein the image encoding/decoding device does not receive information, which is initially set to the image processing modules, directly from the external CPU, and control information for the initial setting is set to the first circuit from the CPU. The second circuit reads in initial setting information and setting-target information of the initial setting information from outside using the control information set in the first circuit and transfers the initial setting information to the image processing module according to the read-in setting-target information.

    • An intermediate adapter includes a first terminal operable to be electrically connected to a lens detecting terminal provided on the camera body when the intermediate adapter is attached to the camera body, a second terminal operable to be electrically connected to a terminal provided on the interchangeable lens for providing a ground potential when the interchangeable lens is attached to the intermediate adapter, and a first switch interposed between the first terminal and the second terminal. While the intermediate adapter is being attached to the interchangeable lens, the first switch is off to disconnect the electrical connection between the first terminal and the second terminal.
